Spain’s Paula Badosa fell for a quote on a parody account on the social media regarding her boyfriend Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas. The two have been dating for a long time and are often regarded as the power couple in the world of tennis.
Badosa had a bad day on social media as she fell for a parody account which posted a comment faking it to be from her boyfriend, Tsitsipas. "She makes me a better person and a better tennis player. She's been beating me in our practice matches for the last few months, don't tell her I let her win (laughs). She's incredible. I'm the luckiest man in the world,” was the quote shared in a post on the account titled TENNISCentel on X — previously known as Twitter.
Badosa ended up sharing the post on her account with emojis of shaking hands and love, but was forced to delete the post once users on the platform started making fun of her. The former world number three is currently participating in the Strasbourg Open, where she booked her spot in the quarterfinal after being awarded a walkover by Marie Bouzkova, who retired midway through the first set when the score was 3-3.
Talking after the match, Badosa, who returned to the court after a gap of nearly two months, highlighted how difficult the journey has been for her. She also stated that she is now playing pain free. “I’m happy to be back after two months,” she said. “It was tough. It was a tough journey. I’m still very far from my level, but hopefully I can be there soon. This time for me, mentally, it hurt. Because I think I was playing the best tennis of my life. I was playing very well. Physically, I was feeling very well also. Stopping like this was tough for me. Finally, I’m back pain-free.”
