Preview Wimbledon 2025 Day Seven: Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka lead the way alongside Brit hope Sonay Kartal

It is another day of action at Wimbledon as we set Quarter-Finals on Sunday 6 July. Our preview looks ahead to Day Seven at SW19 as we reach the second week of action.

Carlos Alcaraz, Aryna Sabalenka and Brit hope Sonay Kartal lead proceedings on Centre Court in a stacked day of action all over the main courts at Wimbledon.

Kartal begins as she looks to make the Quarter-Finals of a Grand Slam for the first time. Amid all of the noise and chatter about Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper, it is ironically the British No.3 at the time behind Raducanu and Boulter who has made the biggest splash thus far.

She has been superb and has often been on outer courts but now she gets her chance in the main Centre Court after becoming basically the last main Brit involved in proceedings. She faces Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova who no doubt will be relishing the chance to face the Brit and cause an upset in terms of the fans who no doubt will be behind their charge.

Then it is a player who knows that feeling all too well. Aryna Sabalenka saw off Emma Raducanu in a sterling effort on Centre Court on Friday night which nearly saw the Brit dream of a big win. But instead she faces Elise Mertens who she has a pretty amazing record over.

She sits at 10-2 ahead and she hasn't lost since 2018 against her in Montreal. She would've relished facing Mertens over Elina Svitolina in the knowledge of that record. Amid all of the lead seeds going out, Sabalenka is one of the last remaining of the big names and she will no doubt see the chance in front of her.

But often that leads to complacency so she will hope that doesn't creep in. She is second up on Centre before Carlos Alcaraz in a top tie with Andrey Rublev. In times gone by as evidenced by their 2-2 Head to Head record, it has been a match-up that is pretty even.

But Rublev is now 14th seed and isn't really the player he was. Alcaraz though has not been at his best at WImbledon so far so if there is the want to get at him, it could be this match-up. It will be last up on the schedule on Sunday and bound to capture the imagination.

Fritz, Anisimova and Jarry v Norrie adorn Court One

Perhaps though Court One provides the best entertainment as Taylor Fritz faces Jordan Thompson. Fritz apart from having to take nearly two days to see off Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has been great thus far and will face one of the last remaining bastions of Australian tennis in Thompson. Fritz has a 2-1 Head-to-Head but lost to Thompson at Queen's last year so the latter can do it on grass.

Then it is another Brit as Cameron Norrie has emerged again. But so has Nicolas Jarry who saw off the wall of noise that Joao Fonseca attracts. He will have to deal with British fans in this one bringing the noise but since his return after qualifying, the Chilean has taken it all in his stride. He will aim to do so again.

While Sabalenka is on Centre Court, she knows she may have to play a familiar nemesis of the past later in the piece in Amanda Anisimova who perhaps has been the under the radar pick so far. She faces Linda Noskova to end Court One.

Laura Siegemund v Solana Sierra and Karen Khachanov v Kamil Majchrzak are the only other two singles ties on Sunday with devotion mostly to doubles on other courts.
