The schedule for Day Seven of Roland Garros French Open 2025 has been released, marking the conclusion of the third round, featuring the top-half of the ATP draw and the bottom-half of the WTA draw. The day will be led by male world No. 1 Jannik Sinner and 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.
Additionally, American stars Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Madison Keys will take to the courts. Some of the most notable matches of the day include Jack Draper versus Joao Fonseca and Paula Badosa against Daria Kasatkina.
The action will begin with the revitalized Marketa Vondrousova, former Wimbledon champion, facing world No. 3 Jessica Pegula. This is a very interesting match to open the day, where the Czech, a former French Open finalist, arrives inspired despite her limited match rhythm this season. She defeated 25th seed Magdalena Frech and will now face a tough test against Pegula. The American has advanced through the first couple of rounds without issues in straight sets, though this will be her first match against a player of Vondrousova's caliber.
Once that match concludes, it will be the turn of male world No. 3 Alexander Zverev, facing young Italian Flavio Cobolli. 'Sascha' hasn't shown his best level yet but managed to advance comfortably after overcoming Jesper de Jong in three sets. The German is defending his final appearance, but will face a tricky opponent in Cobolli, who registered his first top-10 victory against Holger Rune at the Madrid Open a few weeks ago. This is an open match where the Italian will be ready to spring a surprise.
The third match will feature Coco Gauff, a finalist at the tournament in 2022, who has been playing at a high level. She comes from consecutive finals in Rome Open and Madrid Open and will face Czech Marie Bouzkova. The American will be the favorite, although Bouzkova, with nothing to lose, will be looking for an upset, inspired by eliminating Anna Kalinskaya (30th) and Sonay Kartal.
Closing out the night session will be three-time Roland Garros champion Novak Djokovic, who has yet to concede a set and overcame a tough test against Corentin Moutet. He faces Austrian Filip Misolic – a surprise at this stage of the tournament – where the Serb is once again the heavy favorite to extend his winning streak, now at six consecutive victories.
The day will kick off with world No. 6 Mirra Andreeva, who has shown great form this year and is defending her semifinal appearance from last year. It won't be easy against Kazakhstani Yulia Putintseva, who, when inspired, can defeat any opponent. The teenager will be favored to reach the second week, but she cannot be overconfident against an opponent who already has 13 victories against top-10 players – 7 of them against top-5 players.
The second match will feature male No. 1 Jannik Sinner, in one of the most anticipated clashes of the day against Jiri Lehecka. The Czech defeated clay-specialist Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and will be looking for an even bigger upset against the Italian. Sinner, for his part, has again shown a superlative level and remains one of the title favorites, perhaps only behind defending champion Carlos Alcaraz.
The third daytime slot will be for world No. 5 Jack Draper, who will have another encounter against Joao Fonseca. The Brazilian teen star secured a couple of emotional victories against Hubert Hurkacz and Pierre-Hugues Herbert, and will arrive inspired for his first appearance in the third round of a Grand Slam. Still without dropping a set, the Brazilian is probably one of the toughest opponents Draper could have faced in the first week, and it wouldn't be surprising if he puts Draper on the ropes. In their only previous meeting, the Brit claimed victory back in Indian Wells, a tournament he ultimately won.
The close of the day on the second most important court will feature an all-American clash between Madison Keys and Sofia Kenin, two Australian Open champions. Keys' form has faded during the clay-swing compared to the level that earned her first major title earlier this year, but convincing victories against Saville and Boulter give her a good dose of confidence. Kenin – a former French Open finalist – comes from defeating Victoria Azarenka and has also not conceded a set so far in the tournament.
