Jannik Sinner continues to raise the bar in tennis, building on his reputation as one of the sport’s standout talents.

The 2025 season could be another historic year for him, with more silverware potentially on the horizon.

Sinner is also closing in on a return to world number one. Carlos Alcaraz’s unexpected loss to Cameron Norrie means Sinner could overtake him with a win at the Paris Masters.

At just 24 years old, Sinner has become a model of consistency in tennis, something Andy Roddick recently pointed out by calling him ‘not normal.’

And ahead of his next match in Paris, the Italian talent has hit another milestone by joining an exclusive group known for their success on indoor hard courts.

Sinner just keeps finding ways to add to his list of accomplishments, and his latest win puts him in some very select company.

His straight-sets win over Zizou Bergs on Wednesday was his 22nd consecutive victory on hard courts, joining a group that includes Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Pete Sampras.

While he is still early in his career compared to those legends, Sinner is building the kind of CV that could see him mentioned alongside them one day.

His consistency has been a big part of his rise. Even when Alcaraz has had the upper hand in their head-to-head meetings, Sinner has remained steady against everyone else.

He will be looking to finish strong in Paris and keep pushing towards the top spot in the rankings. At this point, it would not be a surprise if he got there sooner rather than later.

How Jannik Sinner’s career stacks up against Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Pete Sampras

It is worth noting that any direct comparison is still early, with Sinner just 24 and only recently establishing himself at the top of the sport.

There is already talk, though, that the Italian could surpass Sampras’ 14 major titles and even put Federer’s mark of 20 within reach if he keeps this pace up.

Player Grand Slams Won Masters Wins Weeks at number one
Novak Djokovic 24 40 428
Roger Federer 20 50 310
Pete Sampras 14 11 286
Jannik Sinner 4 8 65

With four Grand Slams already, Sinner, alongside Alcaraz, has dominated the last eight major tournaments, suggesting their reign is far from over.

Almost every week now, either Sinner or the Spaniard is adding achievements that put them alongside some of the game’s biggest names.

If no one else rises to challenge them as Djokovic once did against Federer and Nadal, we could be looking at a period of real predictability in men’s tennis. The standard they are setting is that high.
