Taylor Fritz claimed that Tennis is officially in the Big 2 era, given how dominant Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have been lately. While he felt the need to improve himself personally, the American added that Sinner and Alcaraz are ahead of everyone else. All Grand Slams since 2024 have been won by either Alcaraz or Sinner, which is similar to the domination of the Big 3 at their peak.

Fritz was knocked out of the Group stage of the ATP Finals 2025, following his loss to Alex De Minaur and Alcaraz's win over Lorenzo Musetti. After his exit from the tournament, Fritz said that there's a room for improvement in his game.

"Now we’re just in the Big 2. I think the difference is back when we had the big three, I mean, I'm a lot better of a player now. I think obviously if I play well, I can play a close match with Carlos, like we saw. I need to continue to improve. That's just what my focus is. Obviously those two are ahead of everyone," Fritz said.

He added that the tournaments where others have chances are the ones where one of them opt out, like the Shanghai Masters. However, he felt even in such tournaments, the chances are slim for others.

"The draws are open when one of them... I mean, in Shanghai Carlos doesn't play, Jannik happens to lose, something like that. But no, I wouldn't say things are super open. If you want to win a big title, more than likely you're going to have to beat one of 'em, maybe both of 'em," Fritz added.
