The road to Omaha will once again run through Knoxville, as Tennessee baseball learned its NCAA Tournament path on Monday afternoon.

With the full 64-team field now official, the defending national champions have earned the right to host a regional at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Tennessee enters the tournament as the No. 14 overall seed after finishing the regular season with a 41-15 record.

The Vols went 16-14 in the SEC, one of the most demanding conferences in college baseball.

Despite the grind of league play, Tennessee secured key series wins and built a postseason resume that impressed the selection committee.

Now, the question of who will Tennessee baseball face in the NCAA Tournament has been answered.

The Knoxville Regional includes Miami (Ohio), Cincinnati, and Wake Forest.

Tennessee opens regional play against Miami (Ohio), while Cincinnati and Wake Forest round out the four-team bracket in the traditional double-elimination format.

It’s a balanced regional with several storylines.

Wake Forest brings significant experience and postseason potential.

Cincinnati, a scrappy squad with offensive depth, is capable of catching fire.

Miami (Ohio), Tennessee’s opening opponent, earned its spot with a strong finish in conference play and will look to play spoiler.

With eight of the 16 regional hosts coming from the SEC, the Vols have already been forged by elite competition.

Each weekend in conference play offered NCAA Tournament-caliber intensity, something that should benefit them heading into Friday’s opener.

The journey back to Omaha will demand consistency, poise, and timely pitching.

But starting at home, in front of one of the most passionate fan bases in college baseball, gives Tennessee every opportunity to take the first step toward another championship run.
