Tennis standout Naomi Osaka and her longtime boyfriend, rapper Cordae, have broken up.

Osaka, 27, a four-time Grand Slam winner, and Cordae, whose real name is Cordae Amari Brooks, had been together since 2019. The pair share a one-year-old daughter, Shai, born July 11, 2023. Osaka broke the news about the breakup on her Instagram story Monday.

“Hi everyone, just wanted to say that Cordae and I are no longer in a relationship,” she wrote. “No bad blood at all, he’s a great person and an awesome dad. Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together.”

Cordae has not addressed the split. He and Osaka had been the subject of breakup rumors in the past, but this time, the whispers are real.

Osaka, who took some time off during and after her pregnancy, returned to compete in the 2024 Australian Open. She lost in the first round of the event before bowing out in the second round at the French Open, US Open and Wimbledon.

The Osaka, Japan native reached the final of the 2025 Auckland Open on Sunday but had to withdraw after one round against Clara Tauson due to an abdominal injury.

"I just want to thank everyone for welcoming me to such a beautiful city," Osaka said following the match. "I had a lot of fun playing here, and I'm really sorry about how it ended. I hope you enjoyed the tennis that we did play, and I'm just really grateful to be here."

Despite the injury setback, Osaka indicates she is still confident she'll be able to compete at the upcoming Australian Open.

"I'm having an MRI today to assess," Osaka told Reuters. "I don't feel that it's too serious and I still feel very optimistic about [the Australian Open]."
