Tennis world reacts to Rafael Nadal’s retirement news

Rafael Nadal made a big announcement on Thursday, and the tennis world reacted accordingly.

Nadal posted a video on social media stating he would be retiring from tennis after playing for Spain in the Davis Cup in November. In the video, Nadal reflected upon his career.

The 38-year-old Spaniard won 22 grand slams during his career, including a record 14 French Open titles. He is a tennis legend, and his peers recognize that.

Many posts that paid tribute to Nadal mentioned his tenacity on the court and his sportsmanship. 

Nadal is known for fighting hard for every point and in every match he plays. In addition to his multiple playing achievements, he has won the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award five times and was the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year in 2011 and 2021.
