'Tequila, gummy bears, and Mykonos': Aryna Sabalenka's post-Roland Garros disconnect plan
IPA

Aryna Sabalenka revealed her plan to disconnect after her defeat in the Roland Garros final against Coco Gauff. The world No. 1 spoke about taking a few days off after intense weeks of competition, while trying to move past the loss to prepare for the grass-court swing.

The three-time Grand Slam champion will take a couple of weeks of vacation before returning to the courts at the Berlin Ladies Open starting June 16, which will be her only preparatory tournament before Wimbledon.

The Belarusian had, in any case, already planned her next destination once her participation in Paris concluded. Although she will remain in the Mediterranean area, this time with the aim of resting amidst her busy schedule.

She was asked what her plan was for these days. "Tequila, gummy bears, and… being like a tourist for a couple of days!" she said. "I already have a flight booked to Mykonos,” she added. “I just need a couple of days to completely forget about this crazy world and this crazy—if I could swear, I would swear right now—but this crazy thing that happened today… "

"I’m just trying to be very polite right now, but you know, there is no other word that could describe what just happened today on the court."
