'Thank you for being there': Gael Monfils shares heartfelt message for wife Elina Svitolina while celebrating fourth anniversary

France’s Gael Monfils’ tennis career is coming to an end, something he has acknowledged a lot of time while speaking to different media outlets. Even though it has become tough for him to produce the goods consistently on the court, the 38-year-old has been admired for a number of qualities, not only on the court but off it as well.

During the last few years, Monfils, time and again, has praised his wife, fellow tennis player Elina Svitolina, for the positive changes she has brought in his life. Monfils decided to have another such moment as he posted a heartfelt picture with a caption full of emotions to celebrate their fourth anniversary. The two have been married for four years and have a daughter as well. Monfils, in a post on the social media platform Instagram, expressed gratitude for his wife Svitolina and stated that seeing her and their daughter is his ‘greatest victory’.

“Four years ago, we got married. Since that day, we've been building a life full of love, laughter, and beautiful memories,” he wrote. “Today, I look at this photo... and I realize I have everything Seeing you both is my greatest victory. Thank you for being there, thank you for being you. I love you both more than anything.”

This year, Monfils has played 29 matches across all competitions and has won 18 of them. His most recent outing was at Wimbledon, where he lost to Marton Fucsovics in the second round in a five-set thriller with a score of 6-4, 6-1, 4-6, 5-7, 6-4. On the other hand, his wife Svitolina is having a much better time, having won 32 times in 43 outings. Her last event was also Wimbledon, where she lost to Elise Mertens in the third round with a score of 6-1, 7-6.
