The Miami Open final will be their fourth clash in their career. They first locked horns with each other in the 2020 ATP 1000 Rome, which the Bulgarian won in three sets. In their previous match in a quarterfinal in Beijing, the 22-year-old emerged as the winner in three sets.

Dimitrov has now reached the final of the ATP Masters 1000 for the third time. He previously secured the final berth in 2017 and 2023. In the 2017 Cincinnati Masters final, he defeated Australia’s Nick Kyrgios to lift his first trophy in this category.

Sinner’s only defeat came in Indian Wells to World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinal. The Italian started the year at the Australian Open, winning the title by overcoming Daniil Medvedev in the final in five sets.

Sinner then defeated Alex de Minaur in the ATP Rotterdam final. The victory in the Miami Open summit clash will give the Italian his third trophy of the season.
