In a new Daily Dose of Social Media, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner reunited on the courts while preparing for the Cincinnati Open and had a relaxed conversation about their vacation weeks. Meanwhile, at the same venue, Venus Williams was training for her return to the courts at the WTA 1000 tournament next week.

On another note, Aryna Sabalenka announced her new partnership with a sports hydration brand, while Marta Kostyuk left a heartfelt reflection after her exit due to injury at the Montreal Open.

Alcaraz and Sinner share a moment on Cincinnati practice court

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner reunited for the first time since the Wimbledon final, catching up on the practice courts at the Cincinnati Open. The world No. 1 and world No. 2 had not seen each other since they faced off for the title at the All England Club, where the Italian player ended Alcaraz’s 20-match winning streak at Wimbledon and took home his fourth major title.

In a video posted on the Cincinnati Open's social media, the two were seen having a conversation where Sinner asked his colleague about his break. “Nothing crazy, (I was) at home, I spent two weeks at home, one week at the south of the Spain. It was nice. Three weeks in summer at home, you know, felt like bored.”

“It was different,” Sinner responded as he packed his things.

“At least one year that i didn’t see, you know, all my Friends, all the people, you know, doing whatever they want,” Alcaraz continued.

Both players now know their draws for the upcoming Cincinnati Open, which will be the first tournament where they could meet again. Sinner is waiting to find out who his opponent will be between Vit Kopřiva and a qualifier, while Alcaraz will face the winner between Mattia Bellucci and Damir Džumhur.

Venus Williams prepares for Cincinnati return

Venus Williams is already training in Cincinnati to return to the courts next week. The 45-year-old player was at the DC Open a week ago, where she returned to the courts after 15 months of inactivity. There, she secured her first win in two years; her previous victory had been against then-world No. 17 Veronika Kudermetova in Cincinnati.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion is returning to a tournament after receiving another wildcard. In Washington, she made a notable singles debut with a victory against Peyton Stearns, in addition to also getting a win in doubles in her partnership with Hailey Baptiste. The former world No. 1 is in the midst of a busy few weeks, considering her participation in the US Open mixed doubles with Reilly Opelka has also been confirmed after she received a wildcard.

A recent video from the Cincinnati Open shows the former No. 1 already training on the tennis courts.

"My heart is full": Marta Kostyuk reflects on her Canadian Open run despite injury

Marta Kostyuk left a heartfelt reflection on social media following her unfortunate exit from the Canadian Open quarterfinals, where she retired due to an injury in the middle of her match against Elena Rybakina. The Ukrainian player had a great run at the WTA 1000 in Montreal, defeating Marketa Vondrousova, Daria Kasatkina, and McCartney Kessler, but a wrist injury prevented her from finishing her match against Rybakina. It remains to be seen if Kostyuk will be able to recover for the Cincinnati Open, which begins next week.

“It’s hard to put into words how this week felt. It ended in pain — but it was also one of the most fulfilling and enjoyable weeks I’ve had on tour. I felt present, alive, and reminded why I love this so much,” posted the Ukrainian No. 2. “I’m leaving Montreal with my head held high and my heart full. To every single one of you who came out, cheered, supported, messaged — thank you. It wouldn’t have been the same without you.”
