Heading into his 2026, 22 year old Carlos Alcaraz was just an Australian Open title from becoming the youngest man to complete the career Grand Slam.
After winning a four-set Final against Novak Djokovic, Alcaraz broke an 88 year old record set by American Don Budge in 1938 and became just the ninth man in tennis history to win the career Grand Slam.
After completing the career Grand Slam in the first major tournament of the year, Alcaraz made sure not to heap pressure on himself to win the calendar Grand Slam – winning the Australian, French and U.S. Opens as well as Wimbledon in the same year.
“Those are big words, to be honest,” he said when asked about going for the calendar Grand Slam.
“So, I don’t want to put myself in a pressure position to do it. Right now, I will try to recover and practice well to play a good tournament in the next Grand Slam.”
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the men to win the Australian Open in the Open Era (since 1969) can you name in eight minutes?
Good luck!
