Heading into the 2026 French Open, Alexander Zverev had 24 singles titles but none in a Grand Slam event. But with Carlos Alcaraz out of the event and Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic falling in early upsets, the 29 year old finally has one.
Battling through blood sugar issues in the Final, the German beat Flavio Cobolli 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7 (7), 6-1 in a match that took four hours and 16 minutes. The title was a long time coming for Zverev, whose 125 singles match wins en route to his first Major is an Open-Era record.
“We've been through the injuries. We’ve been through heartbreak and tough losses. WE’ve been losers at times in the important moments. But at the end of the day, we’re Grand Slam champions now,” he said on the court at Roland-Garros after his win.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the men’s singles French Open champions in the Open Era (since 1968) can you name in eight minutes?
Good luck!
