The quest for 25: Novak Djokovic back at Wimbledon, eyes Federer's record

Novak Djokovic is already back at Wimbledon, as shown on his social media, as he prepares to chase his 25th Grand Slam title. The Serb has lost some prominence in the majors and hasn't lifted a Grand Slam title since the 2023 US Open.

The Serb – the all-time male record holder for major titles – has 7 titles at Wimbledon, just one behind Roger Federer's record. After winning the title four consecutive times between 2018-2022 (not played in 2020 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic), he lost in the last two finals, both times against Carlos Alcaraz.

Djokovic has the opportunity to become the second player in history to reach the mark of 100 wins at Wimbledon. He currently has 98 victories, trailing only Federer's 105. Should he win the title, he would equal the Swiss legend and increase his Grand Slam tally to 25 titles.

Djokovic is coming off a good campaign at Roland Garros, but where he once again fell short against Jannik Sinner. The Serb lost in the semifinals of the French Open in straight sets and was again left empty-handed.

Still eager to compete for a long time and continue breaking records, Djokovic will be one of the favorites at SW19, where he will be the 6th seed. The draw in the coming days will be key, as he could potentially face Sinner or Alcaraz as early as the quarterfinals.
