The 'Women's Australian Open champs' quiz

While Jannik Sinner – the men’s Australian Open champion from 2025 – continues his quest to repeat as the winner of the first tennis major of the year, the women’s side won’t have a repeat champion.

American Jessica Pegula beat her countrywoman Madison Keys in the fourth round of the 2026 Australian Open, guaranteeing Keys won’t be able to follow in the footsteps of Arnya Sabalenka as a back-to-back champion.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the women in the Open Era (since 1969) to win the Australian Open can you name in eight minutes?

Good luck!

Note: The Open was moved from January to December in 1977, so there were two Opens played in that year. It was moved again in 1986 from December to January, so there was no Open played in 1986.
