It took a comeback in a decisive third-set, but the world’s No. 5-ranked tennis player Elena Rybakina defeated No. 1 Arnya Sabalenka in the Australian Open Final to win her second-career Grand Slam title.
Sabalenka is a two-time Aussie Open champion and was playing in her fourth-consecutive Final and was close to avenging her 2025 loss to Madison Keys at that stage. But Rybakina rallied from down three games to none in the final set to win her first Australian Open and first major tournament since Wimbledon in 2022.
She also now has the highest all-time winning-percentage against top-ranked players (60 percent), with a 9-6 record against the world’s best.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the women to win the Australian Open in the Open Era (since 1977) can you name in seven minutes?
Good luck!
