Mboko and Auger-Aliassime now turn their focus to the United Cup, where Canada have been drawn in Group B alongside Belgium and China.

Speaking ahead of the event, the WTA star said: “I’m really excited. This is my first time playing such an event and playing the whole Australia swing, so there are a lot of new experiences and so many new things to come.

“I’m excited to play United Cup. It’s a really fun event and to be here with Felix and the team, it’s really great.”

And Auger-Aliassime commented: “I have great memories playing in the past team events here in Australia.

“We actually won with our team [the ATP Cup] in Sydney a couple years back, so it would be nice to get a win again.”

Maya Joint excited for United Cup debut with Australia

Also playing at the 2026 United Cup are Australia, whose team includes ATP ace Alex de Minaur and WTA rising star Maya Joint.

Last month, Joint helped Australia secure a spot in the Billie Jean King Cup 2026 qualifiers, with her nation winning play-off matches with Brazil and Portugal in Hobart.

Speaking to Wide World of Sports ahead of her United Cup debut, Joint said: “I’m really excited, it’s my first time playing that event, so there is definitely going to be some nerves involved with that.

“But I think it’ll be pretty similar to Billie Jean King Cup, just with having a team around you, but it’s also gonna be different because it’s mixed. It’s going to be fun.

“When I was playing BJK Cup, it got pretty loud in the last match. I need to work on framing my mindset to think that that’s a good thing, even when it’s the other team cheering, that it’s just the atmosphere, and it’s fun to play in.

“It’s just a very different feeling than when you’re just playing by yourself, so it’s good to get the experience.”

Like Canada, home favorites Australia will play in Sydney, taking part in Group D alongside Czechia and Norway.

The USA won the United Cup in 2025, with Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz securing a 2-0 final victory over Poland.
