Alex de Minaur is fronting the Aussie charge on Day Four of Wimbledon as he is the first through of the four in action on Thursday at SW19.

De Minaur opened No.2 court against Frenchman Arthur Cazaux. He lost the opening set by managed to recover in order to see off the qualifier.

The 11th seed went down 6-4 in the opening set but recovered enough to seal the next three with the final foray in particular being superb. De Minaur won the final set 6-0.

This after he sealed the previous two 6-2, 6-4. He has a good draw too in the next games. He will face either August Holmgren or Tomas Machac, the 21st seed who is a danger but tends to go off the boil at some point.

He will then likely face nemesis Novak Djokovic who he has barely mustered a win over in the past. He is currently facing Dan Evans and will take on his compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic in the fourth round if he wins.

Kecmanovic already sealed his spot seeing off Jesper de Jong in four coming back from a 6-1 set loss to win the next two 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.

Kasatkina to follow

It can be said that in reality Daria Kasatkina harbours the best chance of the remaining Aussies to win through. She faces Irina-Camelia Begu.

While the other two are Rinky Hijikata and Aleksandar Vukic. The former faces Ben Shelton. While Jannik Sinner headlines against Vukic on Centre Court.

Jordan Thompson anchored hopes yesterday and it could be mainly De Minaur remaining after today.
