Wimbledon Women’s Final Predictions: Amanda Anisimova vs Iga Swiatek
Main photo credit: Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

It’s a women’s final at Wimbledon that perhaps no one expected, but also shouldn’t shock us much, either. Neither of these women showed a ton of grass predigree before this event, but both have raw firepower and great games, so putting it all together in a big moment was bound to happen. But who will bring home the trophy? And who will leave disappointed? Our writers share their thoughts on Saturday’s match. Who do you think will win?

Wimbledon Women’s Final Predictions

Amanda Anisimova vs Iga Swiatek

Nurein:
Although her Grand Slam breakthrough was on clay at the French Open six years ago, Anisimova was born to win Wimbledon. Everything about her game screams of potential Wimbledon champion. But there are still holes that Swiatek can exploit. Her forehand is erratic under extreme pressure and she will need to do a lot of heavy lifting by serving impeccably and repelling all that Swiatek will throw at her. And this is the best version of Swiatek that we’ve seen on grass courts. She’s been sharp, composed and very efficient. Anisimova is no stranger to defying the odds, but this appears to be an insurmountable challenge.
Prediction: Swiatek in 2

Jordan:
Swiatek produced one of the best performances of her career against Belinda Bencic. The Pole has handled power much better than in previous years at Wimbledon. But I think Anisimova is one of the few players who can disrupt her and make things close because she strikes the ball as hard as any WTA player. This could go either way, but Swiatek’s experience on the biggest stage makes me favor her slightly. She has won all five previous Grand Slam finals, always finding a great level and managing the pressure.
Prediction: Swiatek in 3

Manan:
It’s not that Anisimova reached #13 in the world without anyone noticing her. However, I feel her coming of age has taken place this Wimbledon. Her return percentages and good usage of the court makes her a solid contender, and that’s how she beat the World no. 1. She will be up against Swiatek, who has been licking her wounds in the rankings and is getting back to her inevitable aura mode. She seems dominating once again and is playing much more aggressively than ever before. A thumping semifinal win over Bencic might just give the final dose of energy to win this battle. This will be the first meeting between the two on grass. Backing Swiatek to win the final because of her rejuvenated aggressive game style and experience of handling such big days. However, it won’t happen without Anisimova making it difficult.
Prediction: Swiatek in 3

Yesh:
Anisimova showed signs of nerves in finishing off most of her matches this tournament. But she’s found her way to the finish line every time, even against Aryna Sabalenka. The American has a raw power to her game that Swiatek hasn’t faced before on grass. On clay, I would easily take the Pole. Her counterpunching is just too good on the surface. But on grass, I expect Anisimova to take control of Swiatek’s service games. And even if the American fails to serve it out once or twice, breaking for the win ends the same way.
Prediction: Anisimova in 2

Ilemona:
Both players have taken very different paths to this final. Anisimova’s run has been full of resilience, surviving multiple three-setters, while Swiatek has been tested too. On grass, though, momentum can shift fast, and if Anisimova finds her rhythm early, this could be more complicated than their head-to-head suggests. How quickly Anisimova adapts to the big stage might determine the outcome here, especially if she can settle into her baseline game early.
Prediction: Anisimova in 3
