Semifinal day at the WTA 250 in Bad Homburg is sure to deliver some spectacular tennis, with three Top 10 players still fighting for the title here looking to sharpen their game as much as possible ahead of Wimbledon. It’s an incredibly stacked draw for an event the week before a Slam, and it will certainly not disappoint. Linda Noskova, while the odd woman out based on ranking, has been playing some amazing tennis all week and has very legitimate aspirations of winning this trophy if she can keep up her level.
Head-to-head: Noskova 1-0 Pegula
Pegula might be yet to win a Slam, but her consistency at Tour events is outstanding and the reason she is ranked #3 in the world. Noskova actually won this matchup in Dubai earlier this year and is playing great tennis this week, definitely a good enough level to have a great chance of beating Pegula, but the American is generally the steadier player and it is fair to give her a slight edge here going in, even if it should be a very close match decided by fine margins either way.
Prediction: Pegula in 3
Head-to-head: Swiatek 4-0 Paolini
Despite grass being her worst surface, being ranked lower than Paolini, and the latter being a defending Wimbledon finalist, Swiatek is considered the favorite in this matchup and it is easy to see why: for a long time Swiatek was the undisputed best player in the world, and in spite of her current slump there is every reason to believe she will be back to her best sooner rather than later. That said, given the surface, Paolini certainly has a very good chance and this will likely be a very tightly contested match decided by execution on a few key points.
Prediction: Swiatek in 3
