Hobart is always a great chance for WTA players to fine tune their game ahead of the first Grand Slam of the season, and this year is no different with several players looking in great shape ahead of the Australian Open. While there are no top players in the draw, the match have been very high quality and that is expected to continue as we go into the business end of the tournament.

WTA Hobart Quarterfinal Predictions

Anna Bondar vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto

Head-to-head: Bondar 1-1 Cocciaretto

Both the rankings and the head-to-head record suggest that this should be an extremely even matchup, one where it is almost impossible to pick a winner. Both players have shown some excellent tennis this week and it is a great opportunity for both to compete for a WTA level title, so both are sure to give it their absolute best here in a match that should come down to details.
Prediction: Cocciaretto in 3

Iva Jovic vs Magda Linette

Head-to-head: Jovic 1-0 Linette

Jovic won in relatively easy fashion when the pair faced at the US Open in 2024, and the gap between the two players has only increased since, with Jovic being arguably the most promising teenager on the Tour right now. Already ranked in the Top 30, many expect 2026 to be a big breakthrough here for her, and at this point she should have too much for someone like Linette.
Prediction: Jovic in 2

Antonia Ruzic vs Olga Danilovic

Head-to-head: Danilovic 1-0 Ruzic

It was a very tough three-set battle when the pair faced at the Wimbledon qualifying in 2024, and the same should happen here. There’s very little to separate the two players as far both ranking and level of play is concerned and it’s a great opportunity for both to make a rare deep run and fight for a title at WTA level. It should come down to who holds their nerve and executes better on the biggest points.
Prediction: Danilovic in 3

Emma Raducanu vs Taylah Preston

Head-to-head: first meeting

Raducanu made some great progress in 2025 and in 2026 she will be looking to at least get even closer to the level that saw her win the US Open in 2021 as a teenager. A title here would be a great statement of intent, and as the first seed she has a great chance to get it. A quarterfinal against the #204 ranked player should, at least on paper, be a nice draw for her here.
Prediction: Raducanu in 2
