It promises to be another terrific day of WTA Montreal action. Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek, Naomi Osaka, and American stars Amanda Anisimova and Madison Keys are all scheduled to feature. As always, we here at LWOT predict all the matches, as well as the ATP Toronto action, but which players do you expect to triumph?

WTA Montreal Day 8 Predictions

Naomi Osaka vs Anastasija Sevastova

Head-to-head: Osaka 3-2 Sevastova

Iga Swiatek vs Clara Tauson

Head-to-head: Swiatek 3-0 Tauson

Swiatek comfortably defeated Clara Tauson during her run to the Wimbledon title. The Dane was excellent in the previous two rounds in Montreal, dropping just six games across four sets. However, Swiatek is currently playing the best tennis on the WTA Tour. She dealt with Tauson’s pace well in their previous meetings and will likely do so again to win a tenth consecutive match.

Prediction: Swiatek in 2

Madison Keys vs Karolina Muchova

Head-to-head: Keys 1-0 Muchova

Karolina Muchova reminded fans how good she can be in the last two sets against Belinda Bencic. Despite the Olympic Gold Medalist not playing badly, Muchova swept her aside. Keys’s greater firepower presents a different challenge, but Muchova’s variety and craftiness are suited to disrupting the Australian Open champion. This could go either way and is a challenging match to call. Overall, the Czech is very narrowly favored to win a tight contest.

Amanda Anisimova vs Elina Svitolina

Head-to-head: Anisimova 3-1 Svitolina

Anisimova was ominously good against Emma Raducanu, who defeated her twice earlier this year before they met in Montreal. Svitolina is an excellent defensive player and will likely put up more resistance than Raducanu did. Nonetheless, it is tough to predict against Anisimova right now. The Wimbledon runner-up’s ball-striking in the previous round would be challenging for any player to handle, even a fighter like Svitolina.

Prediction: Anisimova in 2
