Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

No. 8 seed Anastasia Potapova of Russia captured her second career WTA singles title with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over sixth-seeded Petra Martic of Croatia on Sunday in the Upper Austria Ladies Linz final in Linz, Austria.

Potapova, who won a clay-court title in Istanbul last year, won 73.1 percent of her second serves (19 of 26) and converted five of her 10 break points to win Sunday's match in 76 minutes.

Potapova, 21, is projected to elevate to a career-high ranking by rising into the Top 35 for the first time on Monday.

No. 2 seed Belinda Bencic of Switzerland seized her second WTA singles title of the season and eighth career after rallying to a 1-6, 7-6 (8), 6-4 win over eighth-seeded Liudmila Samsonova in the United Arab Emirates.

Bencic, who won last month's Adelaide International 2, saved three championship points in the second-set tiebreak en route to dispatching the Russian in two hours, 48 minutes on Sunday.

Samsonova, who recorded 10 aces, had been a perfect 4-0 in championship matches on tour before Sunday's setback.
