Olympic Legend Usain Bolt, 39, Reveals Stunning Physical Change

Usain Bolt, 39, is considered by many to be the greatest sprinter of all time. He won eight gold medals on the track, representing Jamaica at the Olympic Games from 2004 to 2016.

His signature event was the 100 meters. He holds the Olympic record with a time of 9.63 seconds, set at the 2012 London Olympics.

At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Bolt won gold in both the 100 meters and 200 meters, solidifying his legacy by becoming the first athlete to win gold in each event at three times at the Olympic Games.

For the man who compared his own athletic greatness to Mohammed Ali and Pele, the early days of retirement have humbled Bolt severely.

In 2025, he is in a physical condition few could have imagined when he was smiling at the runners in second place who could not keep up with him.

“I mostly do gym workouts. I’m not a fan, but I think now that I’ve been out for a while I have to actually start running," said Bolt, who has not been able to run since suffered a torn Achilles tendon in a charity soccer match in 2024.

"Because when I walk up stairs I get out of breath," he admitted in an interview in Tokyo this month while promoting the World Athletics Ultimate Championship. "I think when I start working on it fully again, I will probably have to do some laps just to get my breathing right.”

These days, Bolt's life takes on a slower speed than his sprinting days. His days are mostly spent at home, revolving around the schedules of his three children: daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt, 5, and twin sons, Saint Leo and Thunder Bolt, 4.

"I spend some time with them, hang out, until they start annoying me then I leave," he said. "And then afterwards, I just stay at home and watch movies or I’m into Lego now, so I do Lego."

As fans wonder if they will ever see another runner like Bolt, the retired Olympic star is still chasing another chance to run at all.
