Week 3 of the UFL: St. Louis Battlehawks Soar over San Antonio Brahmas 31-24
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

In Week 3 of the UFL, the St. Louis Battlehawks soared to a 31-24 win against the San Antonio Brahmas.

The Brahmas may be dominant at home. However, the Battlehawks quickly reminded the UFL that “Kaw is the Law,”

It’s all About Efficiency for “The Lou” in Week 3 of the UFL

With the away team fans in the stands, you could hear the crowd cheering on their team with cries of “Ka-kaw, ka-kaw.”

While the Battlehawks did their part in executing a late-game sealing drive, they still needed to finish the job defensively, and they did.

Brahmas quarterback Chase Garbers hit Alize Mack in the end zone to cut it to a seven-point game.

With the Battlehawks up 31-24 and needing a defensive stop, the Brahmas lined up to go for a 4th and 4. In other words, the Battlehawks flew around and stopped the conversation.

Finishing games has been the hardest thing to do so far, especially in week 3 of the UFL. Therefore, the Battlehawks changed that narrative this week.

Brahmas QB Out for the Season

Sadly, we had a big injury involving the Brahmas starting quarterback. Chase Garbers injured his wrist during the game, and the pre-diagnosis is that he will miss the rest of the season.

Garbers led the team to their fast 2-1 start this season. The former Raiders quarterback was on his way toward making it back to the NFL this summer.

Therefore, plans have changed, and he must take care of his health. We wish him a speedy recovery.

We will now have to see who the next man up is at the game’s most vital position. The quarterback is the main component of the engine that revs up the receivers to catch the ball and so on.

Both Teams Battled Hard in Week 3 of the UFL

This was a very competitive game from start to finish. The Battlehawks took control late in the game and made that key defensive stop on 4th and 4 to ice the game.

Additionally, AJ McCarron continues to show why he would rather have his family see him as a UFL star rather than an NFL journeyman backup.

Injuries Bite, but the Show Must Go on

It’s very sad what now has happened to former Brahmas starting quarterback Chase Garbers. The youngster from the Raiders was looking great in AJ Smith’s up-tempo/air-raid offense.

An injury to his wrist in game 3 after all of that puts him out for the season. However, it is now next man up for the Brahmas.

Whoever it is must be able to pick up the Air-Raid concepts to be able to run this high-octane offense the Brahmas run.

Stay tuned next week as the Battlehawks will be playing to increase their winning stretch vs. the Showboats to three games, and the Brahmas will be back home to host the Panthers.
