One of the significant changes coming in Season 16 of League of Legends is the role quests. Instead of only Jungle and Supports getting quests, all lanes will have them. Top and Bot lane quests have the most amount of substance due to their lack of impact in the current game. Jungle and Support quests are changing as well, to fit better on Summoner’s Rift.
All players get a quest based on their assigned role at the start of the game. The requirements to complete the Jungle and Support quests are the same. For Top, Mid, and Bot Lane players, they earn points for their quests in various ways. Champion takedowns, minion kills, epic monster takedowns, turret plates, and turret takedowns grant progress. Minion kills, and turret-related aspects grant double progress in the assigned lane. All lane quests have passive generation, which increases while in your assigned lane. Top, Mid, and Bot lanes earn 25% less gold and XP from minions outside of their designated lane until level three. Role quests have allowed the removal of lane swap detection.
The Top Lane quest rewards aim to give Top laners more agency on the rift. They will become late-game menaces with the additional levels.
Completing the Quest
Rewards
Upon completing the quest, Top laners can reach level 20. They gain 600 experience straight away and 12.5 additional experience from all sources. They gain the Unleashed Teleport Summoner spell if they did not have it before. It is in addition to their pre-existing spells. If they have Teleport already, they gain a 30% maximum health shield when they arrive from the Teleport. It lasts for 30 seconds.
Mid laners have more impact on the game than the Top and Bot lanes. As a result, their quest rewards are less impactful, and increase their effectiveness.
Completing the Quest
Rewards
Mid laners have their tier-two boots upgraded to tier-three. These function similarly to tier-three boots granted by Feats. They also get an empowered recall that halves the channel time. However, it activates every five minutes. Champion takedowns reduce the cooldown by one minute.
The Bot lane is another role that lacks agency. As a result, they get a hefty increase in power from their quest.
Completing the Quest
Rewards
Completing the Bot lane quest grants 300 gold immediately. Further minion kills grant an extra two gold, and champion takedowns grant an additional fifty gold. Boots will move into the Role Quest slot, allowing for a cap of seven items.
The jungle quest completion requires fewer pet counters. Completing the quest grants additional movement speed in the jungle and river, and more gains from large monsters
The support quest will now grant additional progress while in the bot lane. Control Wards get their own slot after completing the Support quest.
