Alright, Apex Legends fans, Season 25 is here, and it’s called “Prodigy”! Launched on May 6, 2025, this season brings a new Legend, some weapon shake-ups, and the return of a fan-favorite mode. I’ve been playing Apex since the early days, and I can tell you this update has me itching to drop in. Whether you’re a casual player or a ranked grinder, there’s something here for you. For more Apex goodness, head over to Total Apex Gaming. Let’s break down what’s new!
Meet Sparrow, the latest Recon Legend joining the roster. This guy’s all about mobility and info. His passive, Double Jump, lets him hop mid-air or climb walls faster—great for outmaneuvering squads. His tactical, Tracker Dart, spots enemies in his sightline and can ping Survey Beacons from a distance. Then there’s his ultimate, Stinger Bolt, which sticks to surfaces, charges up, and hits enemies with damage plus a slow effect. Respawn’s letting everyone try him free for the first four weeks—check out the details in their official dev blog. I’m already hooked on his playstyle!
Season 25 tweaks the meta with some big changes. The Triple Take is now a Care Package drop, while the Bocek Compound Bow and Havoc return to ground loot. The Bocek’s been reworked for Sniper Arsenals, with a max charge damage of 55 (down from 75), according to the official patch notes. Gold Weapons this season are the Bocek, Hemlok, Longbow, Mastiff, and Wingman—solid picks if you find them.
On the weapon front, the Devotion LMG gets a buff with purple attachments that cut its spin-up time. The Havoc’s damage drops to 19, the Hemlok gets bigger mags, and the EVA-8 fires faster. Legends aren’t left out either—Pathfinder’s Grappling Hook now has a dynamic cooldown, and his Zipline Gun got a boost, as covered by Dexerto. Want the full list of buffs and nerfs? Esports.gg has a solid rundown.
Here’s the big one: Arenas is back! From May 6 to May 19, 2025, you can jump into classic Arenas on maps like Overflow and Drop-Off. Then, from May 20 to June 23, it gets a refresh with new traversal options and free meds per round. For battle royale, the map rotation sticks to Olympus, Storm Point, and World’s Edge. Mixtape modes will cycle through Thunderdome and Skull Town. The Times of India thinks these changes might bring more players back, and I’m inclined to agree.

The Apex Legends community is buzzing about Season 25. On X, @alphaINTEL shared, “Everything we know about Season 25 of Apex – New Legend + his abilities – Arenas return – Pathfinder buffs – New Ranked Ladder And more”. But not everyone’s sold—@TimProVision posted,
“Apex Legends Season 25 patch notes are kind of eh. Not a lot there to be honest”.
Some folks wanted bigger ranked changes, though Respawn’s anti-cheat efforts—like cracking down on bots—are getting a thumbs-up. For more Apex Legends reactions, swing by Total Apex Gaming’s news section.
