Best traversal and monster echoes in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Nintendo

Everything in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom revolves around echoes. Whether it’s making a bed staircase to climb some trees or summoning Moblins to take on enemies, echoes will be used in every situation. It’s the game’s central mechanic, and things get much easier when you have some powerful echoes by your side to deal with the challenges ahead.

That’s what this guide is for. We’re breaking down the most powerful echoes you can use in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and these will truly trivialize a majority of the combat and platform challenges. Get ready for a cakewalk.

For more, take a look at our list of every echo in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

Best traversal echoes in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

These echoes won’t help much in battle, but using them to traverse the map will make the game easy.

Old Bed

Nintendo

It’s simple, and that’s why it works. It’s just high enough for Zelda to jump on and make a staircase out of, and you can even sleep in the bed to recover health. Better beds recover more health. Never underestimate the power of a good bed.

Water Block

Nintendo

The Water Block is an early essential. It’s as high as two beds, meaning you can ascend to double the height at half the cost. A stack of water blocks will allow you to ascend vertically quickly and easily, in addition to being able to swim through water blocks horizontally.

Flying Tile

Nintendo

Spawn a Flying Tile, and it’ll fly directly forward. It’ll hit enemies and output a minor amount of damage, but that’s not what this is about – instead, jump on top of the Flying Tile and you can soar across large gaps and caverns easily.

Platboom

Nintendo

The Platboom is like a Thwomp from Super Mario. It’ll slam down on the ground after ascending the maximum available height. This allows you to ascend faster than any other method, and it’s capable of taking a decent amount of damage, too.

Cloud

The Cloud can be used just like a bed, except it floats in the air. It does dissipate after a few seconds of you standing on it, which can be a problem, but as long as you continually spawn new beds, you’ll be safe.

Best combat echoes in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

When not traversing Hyrule and dungeons, you’ll be fighting enemies, and these are the best echoes for combat in Echoes of Wisdom.

Spiked Roller

Nintendo

It’s not a monster, but the Spiked Roller is a wooden beam covered in spikes that just rolls forward. It’s pretty threatening when you come up against it, but when you use it on enemies? Grounded enemies struggle against it, and you can continually spawn rollers over and over. It’s basically an attack for Zelda, and it’s incredible.

Peahat

Nintendo

Another early echo that works wonders in the Peahat. By the end of the game you’ll be able to spawn three of them at a time, and if you’ve used the Peahat at all, you’ll know just how threatening that can be.

Darknut (level 3)

Nintendo

Some enemies have different strength levels, and you’ll find that level 3 Darknut can wipe out almost any foe – though the level 2 version is great, too.

Sword Moblin (level 3)

Nintendo

Same deal as the Darknut, the level 3 Sword Moblin is not to be trifled with.

Wizzrobe

Nintendo

The Wizzrobe comes in Fire, Electric, and Ice varieties, and are the best way to inflict elemental damage on enemies. They’re genuinely incredibly strong, too.

Lynel

Nintendo

The Lynel is undoubtedly the strongest monster echo in Echoes of Wisdom, even if it doesn’t have a bow to shoot arrows from. The Lynel is hidden though, so make sure to read our Echoes of Wisdom Lynel location guide.

Dustin Rhodes Assigns Blame After Hulk Hogan’s Death

Following the shocking news of Hulk Hogan’s passing, wrestling legend Dustin Rhodes, known to millions as Goldust in WWE, took to social media to share a deeply personal and provocative reaction: “Hospitals truly kill people. I really do mean that.” Rhodes’ blunt statement stunned many fans, but those who know his story saw the pain behind the words. His father, the iconic Dusty Rhodes, passed away in 2015, aged 69, after a fall at home led to hospitalization for kidney failure. After his father's passing, Dustin shared a contemplative response on WWE's YouTube channel to discuss the legacy his father left behind. The news of Hogan's death comes just a month after reports suggested he was on his "deathbed" after undergoing a neck procedure back in May. Hogan's reps denied that was the case. In June, US Weekly reported that Hogan had also undergone a "pretty serious heart surgery and was doing well afterward." Dustin’s connection to his brother Cody Rhodes, now a top WWE superstar and face of the company’s next generation, is unbreakable. The Rhodes family legacy is deeply woven into the fabric of pro wrestling history, and seeing another legend like Hogan pass has clearly hit close to home. While Goldust and Hulk Hogan never had a headline-grabbing rivalry, they did share the ring once. It occurred in WCW in 2000 when Dustin Rhodes matched up against Hogan. Although their paths didn’t often cross in the squared circle, Hogan and the Rhodes family were part of the same larger-than-life era that helped define pro wrestling for decades and catapult the sport into society's zeitgeist. Rhodes’ comment about hospitals might not sit well with everyone, but it speaks to a raw and honest pain felt by someone who has seen too many legends, both personal and professional, fade away in similar fashion. The sport of wrestling has endured more than its fair share of lives cut short. As tributes continue to pour in for Hogan, Rhodes’ reaction serves as a powerful, if somber, reminder of the real human emotions behind the wrestling personas.

Charlotte Hornets Reportedly Release 24-Year-Old Guard

Damion Baugh spent his rookie season in the NBA playing for the Charlotte Hornets. The 24-year-old had averages of 7.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 32.3% from the field in 15 games. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Hornets will now waive Baugh. Via Scotto: "The Charlotte Hornets are waiving two-way player Damion Baugh, league sources told @hoopshype . Charlotte is waiving Baugh to clear a spot for the addition of Antonio Reeves on a two-way contract." ESPN's Shams Charania had first reported that the Hornets were signing Reeves. Via Charania: "The Charlotte Hornets are signing guard Antonio Reeves to a two-way NBA deal, sources tell ESPN. The 2024 Pelicans second-round pick averaged 6.9 points and 40% 3-point shooting in 44 games as a rookie last season."

New York Knicks Predicted to Trade Karl-Anthony Towns For Dallas Mavericks Star

The New York Knicks have had a busy summer thus far as they have made multiple additions to their roster to try and improve off their run to the Eastern Conference Finals last season. Of course, the Knicks also made a head coaching change to begin the summer as they fried Tom Thibodeau and replaced him with two-time Coach of the Year winner Mike Brown. During free agency, New York added Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele to upgrade their bench at a cheap cost, which is an area that they struggled with last season. The Knicks do have one more roster spot open which they will likely use to add another veteran player to their bench. While the Knicks have focused on upgrading their depth this summer, Sports Illustrated’s Jackson Caudell recently created a mock trade that would see New York send Karl-Anthony Towns to the Dallas Mavericks for one of their star players along with depth. In the trade, the Knicks would acquire Klay Thompson, Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington from the Mavericks while Dallas would land Towns and Vit Krejci. The Atlanta Hawks are the third team involved in the trade and they would receive Caleb Martin and two second-round picks from the Mavericks. For the Knicks, it would be a tough decision to move on from Towns but they would be able to fill some glaring holes in their roster with their return in this deal. Thompson would give them a much-needed three-point sharpshooter in their starting lineup while both Washington and Gafford would be major additions to their frontcourt, especially on the defensive end. Despite this, the Mavericks may not want to move on from three of their key players to acquire Towns, who struggled in the playoffs last season, primarily on defense. While that may be the case, making this trade would be a massive upgrade to the Knicks’ lineup and depth that could make them the team to beat in the Eastern Conference next season.

Raiders have whiffed on every recent major free-agent signing

Raiders have whiffed on every recent major free-agent signing

The Las Vegas Raiders released defensive lineman Christian Wilkins on Thursday over a dispute regarding his recovery from a foot injury. The move comes just one year after he signed a massive four-year, $110M contract in free agency. Even worse, It continues what has been a disturbing trend of the Raiders completely whiffing on every major free-agent signing they have made since relocating from Oakland to Las Vegas prior to the 2020 season. Of the four highest-paid outside free agents they have made in the five years since that move, only one of them played more than one season with the Raiders before being let go, and none of them played more than two seasons. There is always a risk with free agency because you never truly know how a player is going to fit onto a new team, into a new system and how they will play until they actually put on the pads and start doing it. It's not uncommon for some of those big moves to end in disappointment. The concern for the Raiders is that all of their recent big moves have ended in disappointment, and it's a big part of why the team has had just one winning seasons over the past five seasons. Las Vegas mostly stayed out of the big-ticket free agent game this offseason, but still made some significant moves to change the organization. Along with hiring head coach Pete Carroll, they also acquired quarterback Geno Smith to provide some stability at a position that has been a consistent mess over the past few years. Carroll and the Raiders have big expectations this season, but the roster still has a lot of holes. The release of Wilkins on Thursday only adds another one that they may not have been expecting.
