It looks like the Call of Duty servers are having trouble at the moment, with players of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone reporting widespread issues. Users can still log into the game, albeit slowly, but find themselves demoted back to Level 1, as if they hadn’t played a single game of the first-person shooter yet. This level reset touches both the player and weapon levels.

Equipped emblems and so on will be reset as well, just like all event progress will be lost. The battle pass tab seems to be broken as well. All in all: Nothing looks to be working as it should. There is some good news, too, though: If you want to play despite these shenanigans, you can – matchmaking still seems to be functioning as normal, getting players together in lobbies.

At the time of writing, the developers have not issued a statement or acknowledgement of the issues, though it’s still a little early in the day for them.

On February 22, 2024, a new playlist was released in Warzone, while the anti-cheat team has deployed an update to counter certain types of cheats such as super speed. It’s possible that some of these measures have broken something in the backend, but in that case the issues would have likely started much earlier.

For now, all players can do is remain patient and wait for the developers to get a grip on the situation. We expect the official support account on social media to update players soon.
