Days Gone Remastered’s Survival Elements Are A Highlight

Days Gone Remastered is one of the better open-world games out there, with these heart-stopping moments that fill you with dread, the puttering hiss of your fuel tank, the overwhelming weight of understanding that it is you and your bike and nothing else aside from your very near, very present death. Yeah. Some of the most exciting moments someone can have on the big screen. The careful awareness one must have. The remaster brilliantly pulls this up and out into the forefront. In fact, it requires a little bit of talking about it. Hit the time machine, my good reader!

Back in the day

Days Gone Remastered, and this might surprise you, so hold onto your hats- is not the first game to come out in the series. I know, I know, shocking, but I bring this up to point out something- Days Gone was released in the not-so-far-ago world of 2019, but let’s recall that it was pre-COVID and give a nod to the gaming culture back then.  It didn’t land with what one may call a stunning backflip. It wasn’t bad, no, but it wasn’t anything worth mentioning, seeing as the company pitched a sequel to Sony and was denied. People felt like the combat was lacking compared to its competition.

So… what is the golden ticket?

What Days Gone had and Days Gone Remastered does such a good job of highlighting is the addition of the survival game mechanics, as mentioned above. The memories I have of this game are all in the pen strokes, not the lines that filled the meat of open-world gaming back then. I wasn’t worried about the fighting, no. Let the zombies come at me with hell on their faces- that was simple. No, it was realizing I was out and about. And I did not, in fact, remember to loot that gas station back down the way. It gave the game the charm that nothing else could quite meet in that sorta way… not without giving up my shooty shootys.

Creativity is an art

More and more people are being drawn to the same little flash of delight than ever before, with Days Gone Remastered being released. The permadeath mode only heightens the stakes that every gamer wishes to overcome, and I’m really happy to see it happening. There are more games like this now that include both the open-world and survival action, death joy. It has been found out that the two mesh really well together, but hey ho, this game pushed the limits on what it meant and set the stage to explore.
