The stat rework in Destiny 2 has created new ways to buildcraft. Some builds will rely on different stats to allow them to shine. One aspect to remember about this new stats system is that every point in a stat matters, and you can go to 200. Utilizing Font mods will become key to optimizing your best stat setup in Destiny 2.
Each stat in Destiny 2 ranges from 1-200, with each point giving increased benefits. From 1 to 100, the stats grant one benefit, and a separate one from 100 to 200.
The stats you prioritize for your builds depend on what you are trying to do. For example, during a boss damage phase, you want to try to get your super stat to at least 100. It ensures your super regenerates faster. In this situation, you can increase it beyond 100 for additional damage, and make your weapon stat over 100 for more damage to the boss.
Health will likely become the least prioritised stat in the game as the additional health on orb pickup and the bonus to health rarely matter in most content. Consider what stats impact your build the most when picking a build. Doing this allows you to know what to prioritize for each build. Remember to use font mods to increase the stat distribution of your builds.
Example Builds
One of the rampant Hunter builds at the moment is grapple melee-centric. Using Spirit of Verity, Combination Blow, Stylish Executioner, and a one-two punch shotgun, Hunters can deal incredible damage to enemies. For this build, we want to focus on grenade as our primary stat to increase the damage the grapple does to enemies. After that, you want to prioritize melee and class. While you do not need the increased melee damage, having it above 70 will ensure you return a melee charge while using Gambler’s Dodge. Likewise, for class ability, getting it close to 70 refunds your dodge after a successful melee kill.
Starfire Protocol for Warlocks was the most dominant build in Destiny 2. It has seen a resurgence in the Edge of Fate thanks to it receiving buffs. If you were to take advantage of this build, grenade and class are the stats you want to prioritize. Getting both to 100 at least is ideal, and from there, you can focus on building additional grenade stats to increase the damage they deal. Putting extra points into class beyond 100 is not necessary, as the overshield granted does not matter.
Finally, for Titans, they are dominating the damage meta in the Desert Perpetual raid. The extended damage phases allow Titans to use Storm’s Keep barricade spam and Thundercrash to demolish bosses. For this build, we would want to focus on Super, Class, and Weapons. Having 100 on Super and Class is mandatory to allow for more barricades and supers. Weapons only start to matter above 100 for the additional damage to bosses.
