The Desert Perpetual Raid is around the corner in Destiny 2. It serves as the only raid release during the Year of Prophecy. With players grinding away in the Edge of Fate, the raid serves as a pinnacle test for a player’s skill. On release, the raid will only be available on Contest difficulty, allowing teams to race for the World’s First and a Contest mode clear.
The Desert Perpetual raid releases on Saturday, July 19th at 10:00 am PT (7:00 pm CET). At the start, the raid is only available on contest difficulty, which will remain until the World’s First is confirmed. At that point, the “normal” difficulty becomes available for all players. Contest difficulty will run for the first 48 hours of the raid, ending on Monday at the same time as the start.
The recent TWID for Destiny 2 noted the disabled items for the Contest raid. Note that you can equip the items, but they will not work. As we get closer to the raid, more items might get added to the list:
