Bungie released the Weapon Tuning Preview for the Destiny 2 Renegades expansion. There are numerous changes, including meta-defining updates. We have multiple articles on the preview, with each focusing on a specific section of the sandbox. The list of weapon perks updated in Renegades is short. The majority of the perks will not significantly impact the meta. The only change will be to Bray Legacy, which sees a nerf to Haliaetus.

Destiny 2: Weapon Tuning Weapons Perks

All information is per the Destiny 2 Weapon Tuning Article released by Bungie yesterday.

Rangefinder

Rangefinder will now grant an increase to range while aiming down sights.

Rampage

Usually, when Rampage runs out, all stacks are gone. In Renegades, only one stack is lost when the timer expires. The change applies to Huckleberry.

Box Breathing

The first precision shot after triggering Box Breathing has a flat damage buff, reduced for the new Heavy Ammo Sniper.

Shot Swap

The swap benefits are being buffed. You will only lose one stack on stow and none on ready. The total stack number is decreased as a result. The Sturm catalyst will also be affected by the change.

Sleight of Hand

The buff duration is being increased, and you will not need to swap after getting a kill to proc the trait.

Bray Legacy

Some perk explosions and Gjallarhorn micro-missiles were increasing the ability gains. It is fixed in Renegades, and to compensate, Rocket Launchers grant increased ability gains.

Veist Stinger

The origin trait should function correctly on Fusion Rifles and Shotguns.

Bewildering Burst

With the Disorienting changes, the perk is brought in line with the rest of the options in the category.

Shield Disorient, Photoinhibition, Disorienting, and Concussion Grenades

Should now apply the Disorient effect to bosses.

Final Thoughts

The Destiny 2 weapon perk meta should not see significant changes. Haliaetus will likely go to players’ vaults. The majority of players using the Rocket Launcher were at the upper echelon, like speedrunners. Rampage is a more appealing damage perk, but it will likely be behind its competitors.
