Raids are the pinnacle endgame PvE activity in Destiny 2. With the latest Raid, Salvation’s Edge releasing with The Final Shape expansion there are now 9 Raids in the game. Each Raid features at least 4 encounters, of which at least 2 are boss encounters. All these encounters require 6 players to communicate well with each other and perform various mechanics. Successfully performing these mechanics allows the players to perform damage on the boss. If players successfully deal enough damage to the boss within a certain phase, they defeat the Raid boss. This article will review three of the hardest bosses in the Raids of Destiny 2.

Warpriest

Warpriest comes from the reprised Raid of King’s Fall and is the second encounter. The main challenge of this boss comes from its massive health pool while keeping track of the various mechanics involved. Players have to divide into different teams. A team will keep track of which totems to stand on performing other mechanics while others will focus on the constantly spawning wave of Hive enemies. The damage phase of this boss is extremely tight. Players will have to constantly keep track of various timers as well as bring their best damage options to the fight.

Rhulk, Disciple of the Witness

Rhulk is the final boss of the Vow of the Disciple Raid which came with The Witch Queen expansion. It is one of the most unique and amazing fights in Destiny 2. This encounter features several mechanics that players must perform to reach damage. Two players are responsible for getting buffs and debuffs, some players will call out which totem to deposit the buff at, while others will need to kill the constant wave of enemies.

After that, players will reach another arena with Rhulk present there. Players will need to shoot the weak spot on their body to get a buff, while other players will need to call out where the player needs to deposit the buff. Once 4 buffs have been deposited, the damage phase will start and Rhulk will become aggressive. He will constantly move throughout the arena shooting out beams of darkness. Players must be moving all the time while avoiding the darkness debuff and making sure that they deal enough damage.

The Witness

The big bad of the Light and Darkness saga, The Witness is the final boss of the latest Salvation’s Edge Raid. This encounter breaks away from other traditional encounters because the boss is constantly attacking the players during DPS. These attacks are also not something that players can withstand. Even with normal difficulty, these attacks will guarantee to kill the players.

The mechanics are pretty straightforward with three people performing the actual mechanic and three doing ad clear. Players need to shoot the bands on the arms of the Witness to reveal a shape. Then they have to stand in the respective beam of darkness to get a debuff. After getting the debuff they have to shoot the band again to break the Witness’ arm and progress toward damage.

Top 5 Side Characters That Could Be Nintendo’s Next Big Hit

Nintendo has been responsible for some of the most iconic gaming franchises in the video game landscape. However, one arguably just as important factor to that is all the memorable characters that they have created: from Mario, to Link, to Donkey Kong, to Kirby, they have created dozens of lovable characters that inhabit worlds of equally colorful characters Though, like with the previously released titles such as Captain Toad’s: Treasure Tracker and Princess Peach Showtime, would it not be awesome to see other side characters see their own video game releases? With such creative and diverse characters, the possibilities are endless on what Nintendo is able to expand upon, and with this short list here, I will list off some possible money making ideas that surely Shigeru Miyamoto will listen to. #1 Any F-Zero Character (F-Zero) F-Zero is a series ripe for expanding upon its world. I know it sounds a bit cheap to speak generally on the series, but fans have been no stranger to expressing their interest in the series’ return. With an obvious idea that has come about has been to create an open-world, almost Grand Theft Auto experience playing in the life of a bounty hunter. While this could star the face of the series, Captain Falcon, perhaps this could be the chance for other series favorites to shine. Such as Blood Falcon, Black Shadow, Samurai Goroh, Dr. Stewart, Jody Summers, any of them is fair game! #2 Funky Kong (Donkey Kong) Donkey Kong’s iconic and funky mechanic, Funky Kong, has been an extremely popular character who’s been one to rely on. Including his track record as being regarded as the meta in Mario Kart Wii. As well as his notable appearance being the New Funky Mode in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, or his most recent appearance being part of the Booster Course Pass of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, to massive fan applause. He is arguably the most primed to have his own solo adventure as he takes players from the lands to the sky. He’s been known to create many vehicles, and even weapons, in Donkey Kong 64’s case shows that he is a very capable Kong. Ideally, the game itself could be a lot like Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts Bolts, without all the baggage of ruining interest in the series. #3 Viridi (Kid Icarus) A personal favorite of mine, as I think Kid Icarus: Uprising is one of the highlights of the Nintendo 3DS. Kid Icarus is a series almost begging for another entry in some form, and while it would be ideal to see a new title of Pit’s adventures, Uprising introduced a ton of amazing characters who could be awesome in their own scenarios. The idea of a life-simulator game akin to The Sims but way more chaotic and explosive, starring a character who doesn’t particularly have an interest in humans, sounds like it would need the talents of a seasoned game developer to turn that into something that makes sense. Though with the most notable part of Viridi’s character being the creation of the Reset Bomb, highlighting that in a whole game may cause the rating to go up a little higher than would be preferred. With the concept of letting the player blow up a decent bit of population may sound a little violent to advertise with other of Nintendo’s big releases, they have been no stranger to dabbling in higher rated titles, such as with the Bayonetta franchise. #4 Waluigi (Super Mario) Of course, this character had to make it here eventually. With the Super Mario franchise, there are dozens of characters that exist who could star in their own side games themselves; however many have gotten to in the past. From Wario, Yoshi, Luigi, Peach, Toad, it feels as if every substantial Mario character got their own spinoff to even a sub-series. Though one who is always asked about to star in their own entry is the purple cheater himself, Waluigi. While he is absolutely not cracking my top 10 favorite Super Mario characters, it would be an understatement to say that it would be worth it for Nintendo to give him a shot in his own game. Even if it only becomes funnier the way they treat him, when he was effectively replaced by a bee in Mario Kart 7. Still, as for what the game could be, I think you can get by simply by creating a pinball game that expands upon the iconic race track that was introduced in Mario Kart DS. With wacky mechanics that express how weird and quirky Waluigi as a character is. It could be an evolution of Mario Pinball Land (does anybody even know that game exists?). #5 Chef Kawasaki (Kirby) While he may not be the most popular Kirby character, I think Chef Kawasaki is a fun pick to have out there, as the cooking genre has really been needing a new hero out there. Especially ever since what happened to old Cooking Mama. The Kirby series has also not been too afraid with wanting to dabble, or at least market their other characters for titles. Such as King Dedede playing with drums, Meta Knight seeing full campaigns in a couple of Kirby entries, and we are primed to see them attempt a full-on experience with Bandana Waddle Dee or even Magalor. However, I do feel our lovely chef would not see his own standalone release right away, as like with King Dedede, I could see the Kirby team messing around with this fun idea as a side mode to a main series Kirby title. Perhaps seeing a separate Deluxe release later on with expanded ideas and production value. These are just a few ideas that Nintendo is more than welcome to steal from me. As it’s very much expected Nintendo is going to make a full-blown $80 title focused entirely on Scoot from Animal Crossing, instead.

Bruins' top prospect makes decision on college that will shake up the scene

Boston Bruins top prospect James Hagens has announced he will return to Boston College for his sophomore season. In a brief interview with Scott McLaughlin of Boston’s WEEI 93.7, Hagens shared that he’s in no rush to advance to the next step, acknowledging that development is a, “marathon, not a sprint.” Hagens revealed the news while participating at the Bruins’ 14th annual back-to-school celebration, alongside current Bruins Mason Lohrei and John Beecher. Few announcements will shake the college scene as much as the news of Hagens’ return. He was among the best freshmen in college last season, tracking to 37 points in 37 games. That scoring earned him a unanimous selection to Hockey East’s All-Rookie team — an accolade he shared with teammate Teddy Stiga and Boston University rival Cole Hutson. Hagens reached those heights while filling an interesting role with the Eagles, stepping in between wingers Gabe Perreault and Ryan Leonard after the two spent their last three years centered by San Jose Sharks prospect Will Smith. Each of Perreault, Leonard and Hagens scored fewer points than the Eagles’ top-line managed in 2023-24, but it seemed that was more the cause of a low-scoring year across Hockey East. The top unit recorded points on 36 percent of BC’s goals this season, an ever-so-slight improvement over the 34 percent contributed by Smith, Leonard and Perreault in 2024. But while Hagens faced questions of his scoring upside relative to other top draft-eligible talents in the NCAA, it was hard not to be impressed by his on-ice results. He’s long been a dynamo among his age group, with an innate ability to predict movement and put himself in position to make a play. Hagens is strong on the puck — with an ability to use finesse moves and bulky shoulders to force his way into the dangerous areas of the ice. More than that, he showed clear signs of improvement as the year went on — developing his physical presence and ability to make a difference even when he wasn’t the first man in on a play. Those signs of growth give Boston a prospect to be excited over. Hagens was lauded as the clear first overall talent in the 2025 draft class, prior to the beginning of the 2024-25 season. Much of that claim came from his command of the U.S. NTDP over the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, where he served as the team’s top-line center and snappy playmaker next to electric goal-scorer Cole Eiserman. With Eiserman’s help, Hagens was able to become the fifth-highest scoring player in NTDP history, with 187 points in 118 games. He also set the scoring record at the World U17 Hockey Challenge in 2023, with 21 points in seven games, and the World U18 Championship in 2024, with 22 points in seven games. Hagens will be returning to a fresh-faced Boston College lineup next season. Both Leonard and Perreault signed their NHL entry-level contracts at the end of last season, leaving the Eagles with vacancies on both wings on their top-line. One of those spots will be occupied by Stiga, who has shown years of chemistry playing next to Hagens. The other spot will be closely contested, but could land in the hands of transfer forward Ryan Conmy or fellow Bruins draft pick William Moore. Hagens and Moore will be two of six Bruins prospects on next year’s Eagles squad, providing local fans with plenty of reasons to walk to Conte Forum when the puck drops.

Former NASCAR official sheds light on investigation, decisions during infamous 2013 'Spingate' scandal

In September 2013, one of the biggest scandals in NASCAR history took place at Richmond (Va.) Raceway. The 2013 Federated Auto Parts 400 was the final race in the 2013 Cup Series regular season. At the time, only 12 drivers made the Chase for the Sprint Cup. After a chaotic evening that saw Carl Edwards snag the win, Michael Waltrip Racing was embroiled in a massive race manipulation scandal that played a huge role in the team's eventual downfall. Clint Bowyer intentionally spun in the closing laps in an effort to help teammate Martin Truex Jr. make the chase, while Brian Vickers was told to come down pit road for the same reason. When it was all said and done, Truex Jr. was booted from the Chase and ended up leaving the team at season's end, along with longtime sponsor Napa Auto Parts. Bowyer was docked 50 points and saw his title hopes evaporate before the postseason even began and general manager Ty Norris was indefinitely suspended. Former crew chief and NASCAR Vice President of Competition, Robin Pemberton, joined the "Dale Jr. Download" on Wednesday and explained NASCAR's side of the story from that infamous evening nearly 12 years ago. "About 10 o'clock in the morning (the day after the race) the phone rings," Pemberton said. "It's (former NASCAR president) Mike Helton. He goes, 'We got frickin' trouble. We got to do an investigation.'" At the time, Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois, hosted the first race of NASCAR's postseason as well as media week for the Chase. The spotlight was going to be firmly on the race weekend regardless of extenuating circumstances, but what followed was one of the most bizarre set of occurrences in NASCAR history. "Monday at nine or 10 o'clock, I'm on a (expletive) airplane going to Chicago," Pemberton said. "They (NASCAR) put me in a room. The TV people came in, and they replayed stuff and replayed stuff. I was in that room for eight or 10 hours the first day and probably 16 the second day." After combing through footage and radio transmissions, Pemberton came to a conclusion. "Now, you're fixing a race," Pemberton said. But the MWR scandal was not the only domino to fall in regard to the 2013 Chase. Team Penske and Front Row Motorsports — a pair of Ford teams — were also found to have participated in race manipulation, with David Gilliland intentionally slowing on a restart in order to help Joey Logano secure his spot in the postseason. While Logano remained in the playoff field, NASCAR made an unprecedented decision by adding four-time champion Jeff Gordon as a 13th driver, claiming that Gordon and the No. 24 team had been placed at a disadvantage at Richmond due to race manipulation. "It was kind of no harm, no foul," Pemberton said of the move to add Gordon to the Chase field. "He wasn't having one of his best years. But that was a decision by a few people. "What a frickin' week that was." The NASCAR Cup Series field will return to Richmond on Saturday for the penultimate race of the 2025 regular season — an event that will hopefully be devoid of race manipulation and controversy.

Celtics' sale comes with significant and surprising twists

The sale of the Celtics to an investor group led by William Chisholm has received unanimous approval from the NBA’s Board of Governors, the league announced. The results of the vote were never really in doubt, but it’s significant that there was no opposition to Chisholm’s purchase. The league states that the deal is expected to be finalized soon. Chisholm, a Massachusetts native and lifelong Celtics fan, reached a tentative agreement in March to purchase the franchise for $6.1 billion, which set a record at the time as the largest amount ever paid for a North American sports team. That number has since been exceeded by the sale of the Lakers for $10 billion. Chisholm submitted the highest offer among four groups that were bidding for the team. According to Brian Robb of MassLive, his other stakeholders include Aditya Mittal, Robert Hale and Bruce A. Beal Jr., along with Sixth Street, a private investment firm. Chisholm’s group will obtain a 51% stake in the team from the Grousbeck family in the first phase of the sale and will purchase the remaining shares in 2028. When the sale was first announced, Wyc Grousbeck intended to remain in his role as the team’s governor through the 2027-28 season. However, in a surprising twist, a report on Tuesday indicates that’s no longer possible because Grousbeck will control less than the 15% minimum stake that the NBA requires for the person who holds that position. Instead, Chisholm will become lead governor as soon as the sale is official with Grousbeck serving as alternate governor and CEO through the 2027-28 season. Chisholm will take over the Celtics during a time of transition after years of being one of the NBA’s elite teams. Jayson Tatum‘s Achilles injury coupled with a second-round playoff exit have placed an emphasis on cost-cutting measures to lower the team’s tax bill and escape second-apron restrictions. Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kornet are already gone from last year’s roster, and more money-saving moves may take place before the new season begins.
