The Destiny 2 Livestream today showed us what we can expect from the Kelper destination and the Portal system. While you may have seen a vast portion of the information before in previous streams or from other content creators, there is plenty to dive into. We are fourteen days away from the launch of the Edge of Fate. We are excited for the launch and all the information still to come in the new expansion.

The stream began with the Edge of Fate launch trailer, which showed the Kelper destination and a teaser for the new raid. The first portion of the stream is divided into aspects you can expect from Kepler, like:
The Portal allows players to adjust their experience. You can add modifiers that change combatant difficulty (banes), modifiers that change your experience (no HUD), and modifiers that benefit you (gain amplified on sprint). There will also be a bonus rotation that will change every so often, which may increase specific rewards or add more damage for gear. The major updates will shift portal activities, and we will have a new activity type in Ash and Iron.
All players at the start of the expansion are set to 10 power, with the soft cap at 200. After 200, the season gear bonus replaces seasonal artifact power. Each piece of gear increases your seasonal gear until 450 before Ash and Iron. At the start of Renegades, all players are reset to 200. Upgrade modules are getting retired in the Edge of Fate and replaced by Unstable Cores to level up gear beyond soft cap.
The Seasonal Hub is another feature found in the Portal. Here, players can complete daily and weekly challenges to progress through the weekly rewards pass. Players can earn various materials, including new ways to earn higher-tier gear from vendors at a faster rate. The final section is Conquest, which replaces Grandmaster Nightfalls. There will be various difficulties, which give players additional ways to complete the activities. Rewards from these are one-time only, and players must complete them for the Conqueror seal. Only after the Ash and Iron update will players unlock higher Grandmaster and Ultimate tiers.
Lastly, Guardian ranks are being changed in the Edge of Fate. The objectives will become more Portal-focused. They remove the need to complete solo dungeons, gated behind expansions, and more. All players are reset to Guardian rank two at the beginning of the Edge of Fate, and from then onwards, rank season for every major update.
