The Edge of Fate promises to overhaul many systems in Destiny 2. One of these systems is how Legendary Armor and Weapons function within the game. The Edge of Fate offers new Gear Tiering, Armor Set Bonuses, and a Stats Rework. All of these combine to shift the way players farm for new Legendary Gear and put an emphasis on continuous farming as opposed to a one-and-done mindset in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 Edge of Fate Gear Tiering
Moving forward in the Edge of Fate, all Gear that drops for players will utilize this new tiering system in Destiny 2. All Gear drops from Tier 1 to 5.
Legendary Armor Tiering
The tiers for Legendary Armor are straightforward. The higher the Armor tier, the more possible stat points are available on that piece. The tier stats points are as follows:
- Tier 1 – 48-53 Stat Points
- Tier 2 – 53-58 Stat Points
- Tier 3 – 59-64 Stat Points
- Tier 4 – 65-72 Stat Points
-
Tier 5 – 65-72 Stat Points
-
Drops with a Stat Tuning Mod Slot
- Players can increase the highlighted stat on the armor piece by decreasing another stat.
Legendary Weapon Tiering
The Legendary Weapon tiers are significantly more interesting to look at. As you climb in tiers, the better the Weapon becomes for you to use.
- Tier 1 – Your Run of the Mill Legendary Weapons
- Tier 2 – Enhanced Perks in Left and Right Columns
- Tier 3 – Second Row of Enhanced Perks in Left and Right Columns
- Tier 4 – Enhanced Magazines and Barrels
- Tier 5 – Third Row of Enhanced Perks in Left and Right Columns, Enhanced Origin Trait, Enhanced Mod Socket, Weapon Ornament, and Kill Effect Mod Socket with Exclusive Kill Effect to that Weapon
Destiny 2 Edge of Fate Armor Set Bonuses
From the Edge of Fate onwards, all armor from the same set will have set bonuses in Destiny 2. The Sets have 2 and 4-piece bonuses, allowing you to run either two Armor Sets or one for an additional bonus. The decision for 2 and 4 is a genius one, allowing players to utilize an Exotic Armor Piece. The known Set Piece Bonuses are as follows:
-
Bushido
-
2 Piece – Iaido
- Final Blows with freshly drawn or reloaded weapons heal you.
-
4 Piece – Unfaltering Focus
- Bow, Shotgun, or Sword final blows temporarily reduce incoming damage. Damaging targets with those weapons extends the effect.
-
Aion Renewal
-
2 Piece – Force Converter
- After a final blow with any Rocket or Grenade Launcher, sprint for a short time to gain Speed Booster
-
4 Piece – Reactive Booster
- Once per activation of Force Converter, sprinting while critical health, being suspended, or being slowed by a Stasis effect will immediately grant Speed Booster for a short duration.
