The dust has settled from the many Destiny 2 Edge of Fate videos on Tuesday. Bungie has now answered some vital questions in their recent TWID. Plenty of information about Edge of Fate is hidden behind closed doors for the time being. The TWID dived into how the Stat rework will function and how the Armor 3.0 will affect Exotics down the line.
Destiny 2 TWID Question Answered
Bungie answered five pertinent questions that most of the community has asked about after watching and reading the Edge of Fate content released on Tuesday. These five questions are about:
-
More Vault Space
- There is nothing planned for the Edge Fate, but the additional Vault space and Quality of Life changes are coming in Renegades.
-
Current Gear Viability
-
The short answer is yes. It will be at the beginning of the expansion, but will likely be eclipsed as we get more loot.
-
New Weapon Archetypes
- More information on the new archetypes, new weapons, their perks, and more is coming in future developer streams.
-
What is Happening to the Director?
-
The Portal is becoming the hub for Edge of Fate, but the Director is not leaving. Kelper is accessed through the Portal.
-
Unstable Cores
- A new currency in Edge of Fate, earned from dismantling high-level gear and other sources. They will reset at the start of each six-month season. The economic changes in Edge of Fate are explained more in a future TWID.

Stat Changes
With the Edge of Fate, the entire Stat system is getting overhauled, with the old armor stats transitioning to new ones.
- Mobility becomes Weapons
- Resilience becomes Health
- Recovery becomes Class
- Strength becomes Melee
- Discipline becomes Grenade
- Intellect becomes Super
Mobility, Recovery, and Resilience are leaving the game. Instead, players are getting a fixed value of these stats for their characters. Mobility is fixed at 30 for Warlocks and Titans, with hunters getting 40. Players can equip leg armor mods to increase mobility. Resilience is 100, and Recovery is 60 for all classes.
The TWID also detailed how much each new stat will give if you spec into it.

Ability Stats and Recharge Rates
If players do not invest in Stats (0-30) with recharge rates, it will be slower than before, but a high investment (70-100) recharges faster. Chunk energy gains and energy recharge scalars will match the live game stat at 70, but at a lower value below 70.
Exotic Armor 3.0
All Exotics dropping during the Edge of Fate will use the new Armor 3.0 system. Ada-1 can now reproduce Exotic Armor, but at a limited rate. Ada’s Exotic Armor focusing will only be available during the Year of Prophecy. Exotic Class Items will receive stat updates based on the perks on them, so you can keep any you have or want to farm for. More details on how all of this will work will come in a future TWID.
