Digivolution is the heart of any Digimon adventure, and in Digimon Story: Time Stranger, some of the most unique and powerful forms are locked behind a special mechanic: Armor Digivolution. To access these forms, you’ll need to acquire key items known as Digi-Eggs. These items are not found in the wild but must be crafted using specific materials gathered on your journey.

How to Get and Use Digi-Eggs In Digimon Story: Time Stranger

Unlike a traditional Digivolution item, Digi-Eggs are not dropped by enemies or found in chests. They are craftable items that become a permanent part of your inventory and serve as a prerequisite for certain Digivolutions.

Step 1: Unlock Volcanusmon’s Crafting Shop

Before you can even think about crafting a Digi-Egg, you must first gain access to a special workshop. The ability to craft is unlocked by progressing through the main story.

You will need to play through the main missions until you reach the quest titled Incoming Conflict. During this mission, you will face off against the powerful Digimon, Volcanusmon, in a boss battle. After you defeat him, return to the area where the battle took place. You will find that Volcanusmon has set up a fully functional Crafting Shop. Once this shop is open, you can return at any time to craft Digi-Eggs and other items.

Step 2: Gather Materials

Each of the 10 Digi-Eggs requires a unique set of materials, a specific amount of Yen, and sometimes a particular Attachment skill. Materials can be found throughout the Digital and Human worlds, so thorough exploration is key. Attachments can be removed from your Digimon if needed for crafting.

Step 3: Check Digivolution Requirements

Once you have crafted a Digi-Egg, it will appear in your inventory. To use it, simply go to the Digivolution menu in your Digivice. When you select a Digimon that can Armor Digivolve, you will see the required Digi-Egg listed in its Digivolution path. If the Digi-Egg is in your inventory, the requirement will automatically be fulfilled, allowing you to proceed with the Digivolution once all other conditions are met.
