1. Codex Entry: Sentinel Command Station
  • You’ll go through an early vent system early in the game after the mission has begun.
  • Once you exit, head forward and look for a tiny room on the right side of the hallway.
  • There, you’ll receive the first codex entry, which provides fascinating lore about the Sentinel Command Station.
2. Nightmare Chainshot Skin
  • In the Sentinel crew command center, head down the stairs and blow up the barricade on the left side, and discover a hangar area.
  • Follow the gold line on the floor to discover the Nightmare weapon skin for the Chainshot.
  • This cosmetic option provides your gun with a unique appearance. There are many different skins in Doom: The Dark Ages, so pick which you think is the coolest, even if it’s the default!
3. Life Sigil #1
  • Once you activate two switches in the lower levels and open up the first Sentinel Shrine, you will be in a vent system.
  • Don’t take a left turn to continue the mission, but a right turn to uncover the first Life Sigil.
  • Be wary, as fireballs will be going through the vent, so keep your shield up and rush.
4. Ruby
  • Once you’ve acquired the Ravager and slain the boss, follow the quest upstairs in the elevator.
  • Following shield-jumping across a divide, do not proceed through the doors that take you to the yellow keycard, as it triggers a point of no return.
  • Rather, drop down the hole in the ground to the left of the doors to acquire a ruby and gold.
  • Kill the spawned enemy and push the box up to climb back.
5. Gold Chest
  • With the yellow keycard, leap over the elevator shaft into the small alcove across to find a gold chest.
  • This can be a difficult jump; if you fall, there is a shield rune below to catch you, and a jump pad will shoot to propel you back up.
6. Life Sigil #2
  • Immediately after picking up the gold chest, head back around to notice a breakable barricade in the opposing wall.
  • Break it and make your way through the vents.
  • At the end of the vent (where the purple key is), turn around to see the second Life Sigil behind you.
7. Wraithstone
  • The second Life Sigil vent also leads to a locked room that contains the purple secret key.
  • Take the key and exit through the front door (not the vents by which you came in), and you will find a purple locked door on the opposite side.
  • Enter the room and complete the combat challenge for the Wraithstone.
8. Kreed Makyr Toy
  • Continue with the quest until you return to the area of the hall that you originally came from, which is now infested with demons.
  • Once you have cleared the room, return to the hole in the stone brick wall used earlier to toggle things on.
  • With the secret key in hand, you can now unlock the purple gate protecting the Kreed Makyr toy, a collectible action figure.
9. Demonic Essence
  • In the battlefield after obtaining the Ravager, defeat the Leader enemy that seems to gain its Demonic Essence.
  • This item increases your health permanently, providing you with a huge advantage in subsequent battles.

Completionist Tips

  • Backtracking: There are parts of the Sentinel Command Station that you are unable to visit anymore when you move forward. You must grab everything in an area before moving forward to avoid repeating the mission.
  • Map Consciousness: Use the in-game map to find collectibles and secrets. Unseen areas usually contain useful items.
  • Combat Trials: Entering optional combat fights can reward heavy loot, like the Wraithstone. Be ready for hard fights to get these rewards.
  • Ability Utilization: Abilities such as the shield bash can open barricades, opening up hidden routes and collectibles. Try out your arsenal to discover secrets, or even just to have more fun in Doom: The Dark Ages!
