If you’ve been waiting for the newest Dying Light game, then wait no longer—because Dying Light The Beast is set to release on August 21, 2025! We finally get a continuation to Kyle Crane, the protagonist of Dying Light, Dying Light The Following, and now Dying Light The Beast.
So if you’re excited to continue the story of Dying Light, let’s get into some details.
Like we said, in Dying Light The Beast, you play as Kyle Crane, who was captured by the Baron in an earlier storyline. (Baron… why are all villains given the title of Baron?) After years of painful experiments, Crane finally escapes—but there’s a downside.
The experimentation has left him on the edge of humanity. He now possesses both human and zombie DNA, with both fighting for control. Kyle Crane must contend with his inner beast and learn to control it if he hopes to take revenge on the Baron who turned him into this hybrid.
For gameplay, we return to the brutal savagery that Dying Light is famous for—amplified by Crane’s zombie DNA. You can now crush skulls, rip off heads, and tear enemies in half with terrifying efficiency.
This power is amplified even further by the day and night cycle, a returning signature mechanic for the series. You’ll need to combine strategies from both settings to survive and complete your missions.
Speaking of mechanics, Dying Light The Beast brings back the first-person parkour that the series is known for. Whether you’re jumping rooftop to rooftop or climbing over obstacles, the system is hard to master but oh so rewarding once you do.
We can now also expect to use off-road vehicles to plow through zombie hordes—an addition that’s as fun as it is chaotic—and also use them to explore the open world.
Let’s not even get started on the next-gen visuals that the developers have crafted for our viewing pleasure. Set in the Swiss Alps-inspired valley of Castor Woods, the game features a variety of environments: a tourist town, industrial zones, a national park, farmlands, swamps, and yes, lots of zombie decay.
If you’re a huge fan of the Dying Light series, this should already be on your wishlist—for PC or consoles.
Plus, if you pre-order now, you’ll get the Hero of Harran Bundle, which includes:
