Epic Games Store Offering Three Free Games

Every week, the Epic Games Store offers users a chance to capitalize on some free games. Historically, these games were often for the PC, but recently Epic has shifted its attention to mobile gaming as well. The reason for these offers is simple: Epic is trying to drive users to their storefront to get more eyes on games, which will hopefully lead to purchases elsewhere. Epic has a hard time competing with larger PC gaming storefronts, such as Steam. With Epic bringing attention to mobile as well, they hope for a similar spike in purchases.

Three Free Games On Epic Game Store Mix PC and Mobile Gaming

Epic Games Store currently offers free games every single week to PC users and mobile gamers, on top of games that remain free indefinitely. On some occasions, the freebies will overlap, while in others, they will be independent. This week, it appears some overlap will take place. All three free games are available for download until May 1, 2024, so if fans are interested they should jump on the games quickly.

The free games available on Epic Games Store are Chuchel for both PC and mobile, Loop Hero for mobile only, and Albion Online Free Welcome Kit for PC only. According to GameRant, “CHUCHEL is a quirky point-and-click adventure game that also dips its toes in a variety of other genres, while Loop Hero is a critically acclaimed roguelike that originally released in 2021. Albion Online, meanwhile, is a fantasy MMORPG that has proven fairly popular among fans of the genre.”

With mobile cutting into some of the free gaming, there appears to be less available for PC gamers on Epic Games Store, alienating some fans, especially with this week’s entry being an MMORPG. However, PC Gamers will be getting a new freebie on May 1, Super Space Club, that they can look forward to. A full outline of the free content is available below:

Final Thoughts

Epic Games Store offering free games is a nice gimmicky way to draw more fans in, and is a way to reward players for their support and loyalty. As with any free game library offering, sometimes the games are worth it, and other times they are not. Free is free, though. This week, mobile gamers may be a bit happier than PC users with their selection, but by next week, that sentiment may flip. In any case, players only have until May 1 to download their free content, so make sure to go and grab yours today, and do not forget to check out the other free games on offer as well.
