Fortnite players looking to solve a mystery or just play in some new territory are in luck this month as Epic Games has announced the release of four new LEGO islands to explore. LEGO Fortnite was introduced at the onset of Chapter 5 and quickly became a fan-favorite worthy of Epic’s attention.
According to a media release from Epic Games, the mystery of the Monolith will challenge players as the new islands arrive throughout the month of October. Players will get closer to solving the mystery with each new island, but they will need to keep a sharp eye and be ready to go off the beaten path when the situation arises.
The first LEGO island is available now, allowing players to join an 8v8 battle between the Dream Chasers and Nightmare Hunters. Players will have the choice to defend the dream world or oppose it by capturing territory across the map. They can collect Sand to buy new tools and eliminate opponents to lead their team to victory. Next up on the release schedule is LEGO Monster Fishing which is scheduled to drop on October 17. Players will be dared to step on thin ice to save their village. If they do, they will need to beware of what’s lurking in the murky frozen depths — many who have braved the cold, have never returned.
LEGO Parkour Worlds will debut on October 24. Players should get ready to fall in the sweetest parkour game as they scale the highest candy canes. All this candy might be the stuff of dreams, but it could also be a nightmare in disguise. This final release will come on October 30 with the release of LEGO Dark Space. According to Epic Games, players must escape the darkness by lighting the way or there’ll be no way out. While not giving away too much, the company revealed that players will find a door requiring three codes. The way to unlock it might require some thinking outside of the box (and island).
Players who get to the end of Dark Space before 9 a.m. Eastern time on November 13 will unlock the Dark Studies and Eternal Restlessness Decor Bundles that can be used over in Fortnite! There may be some hope for those who don’t manage to solve the mystery before the deadline. Epic Games says these decor bundles may be available for purchase in the Fortnite Shop at a later date.
Once players have explored the LEGO islands online, they can actually build their own monolith. Instructions for building the monster are available online and the LEGO Pick-A-Brick service has a parts list. LEGO builders who don’t have the spare parts on hand to build the monolith can order an entire lot of required pieces for about $16 plus shipping.
