Patch 3.3 is out, and boy, is it a banger. The Aquila fight puts all the other boss fights thus far to shame. That said, 3.3 is the present, and this article is about the future. 3.4 will be released in about 5 weeks. With it comes a host of new additions to the game. Let’s take a look at some of them, shall we?

About Honkai: Star Rail Leaks

All leaks are subject to change. As such, a full, in-depth, definitive analysis of a character, light cone, relic, or event would be ill-advisable at this time. To that end, I’ll be covering the base level premise of each character so that you can make a moderately informed decision on which character(s) you want to prepare for.

Characters: Bring on the DPS

Not only will the next Chrysos Heir be available, but this patch brings with it the long-anticipated Fate/Stay Night collab. As a result, there will be 3 new Characters released.

Phainon: God of Destruction

When Castorice came out, everyone was duly impressed with her animation. The 3 characters that follow her, however, are less impressive. This is not to say that Anaxa, Hyacine, and Cipher’s animations are bad, merely that they were just “good”. After seeing Phainon’s Skills, we now know why. Seems those 3 gave up their animation budgets so Phainon could soar (literally).

Phainon’s kit revolves around using his Ultimate, which transforms him into something akin to an angel. While active, it also removes his teammates from the field, leaving him to fight the enemy by himself. I won’t go too in-depth on what he actually does, but I will say that, if the numbers hold, he will do some devastating damage.

Saber: King of Kings

Saber is quite a decent character, who deals more damage the more enemies there are. That said, like Phainon, she is also a Destruction character (although Wind, not Physical). As such, she might lose out to him because of his higher damage ceiling and far superior animations.

Saber’s gameplay revolves around gains and consuming “Core Resonance”, which helps her build up her Ultimate faster and increase her Skills’ damage. Like The Herta, using Saber’s Ultimate enhances her next ability, although where The Herta enhances her Skill, Saber enhances her Normal Attack.

Archer: “Hero” of the Future

Seele just can’t catch a break. Archer is a Quantum Hunt with, as of right now, ridiculous scaling. His major drawback is that he is extremely SP unfriendly. He can use his Skill several times back to back to deal large amounts of single-target damage.

His Ultimate provides him with a special “Charge”, which he consumes to do a Follow-Up ATK whenever an ally attacks an enemy. This Follow-Up ATK can also recover a Skill Point (which helps with his immense consumption of them). Archer is, supposedly, going to be given to players for free.

Light Cones: A Trove of New Experiences

The 3 Light Cones that will be added are Thus Burns the Dawn (Phainon), A Thankless Coronation (Saber), and The Hell Where Ideals Burn (Archer).

There will also be several new 4-Star Light Cones added. They seem to all feature artwork based on the various Chrysos Heirs (except the Preservation one, which depicts Aventurine). Interestingly enough, Aglaea is not featured, which is a little disappointing.

Since there are 9 (2 for Remember and 1 for every other Path) it can be assumed that they will be added to the Bi-Weekly Content store.

Planar Ornaments: 2 New Ones Come to Call

Arcadia of Woven Dreams is a very odd set. When the number of allies on the field is NOT 4, the wearer and their memospirit (assuming they have one) gain increased damage based on the number of missing/extra allies. This can stack up to 4 or 3 times. So, Phainon can use it for his “Man Solos God” Ultimate, or it can be used by anyone with a memospriit (since having one out counts as changing the number of allies on the field).

Revelry by the Sea is a new DoT-based set. It increases DoT DMG in general and then increases DoT DMG again if the wearer hits certain ATK thresholds.

Events: Honkai: Star Rail Branches Out

The Main Event of this patch is, of course, the HSRxFate/Stay Collab. There will also be an Origami Bird Clash rerun. The final “event” is the Novaflare, which will provide enhancements to older characters (Jingliu, Blade, Silver Wolf, and Kafka specifically). After obtaining these enhancements, you can switch between them and the original versions of the characters at your leisure.

The number of enhancements being given to these characters is too extensive to be listed here. Besides, they could still change. As such, they will be included in another article upon the release of the patch.
