The Echoes of the Fallen DLC was recently released for Final Fantasy 16 (FF16), bringing with it a few hours of new content. Other than the new explorable area, the DLC brings with it two (technically four) new weapons. The strongest of these weapons is the Omega Weapon, a staple in Final Fantasy Games. In this guide, we will teach you how you can craft the Omega Weapon introduced in FF16 Echoes of the Fallen.
How to Craft the Omega Weapon in FF16
Crafting the Omega Weapon in FF16 requires four items in total, all of which you will get as drops in the Echoes of the Fallen DLC:
- Fallen Enforcer
- Acquired from defeating Sigma, the first mini-boss in the Echoes of the Fallen DLC.
- This mini-boss is located in the Galler area in Sagespire.
- Omega Nodule
- Acquired from defeating Omega, the final boss in the Echoes of the Fallen DLC
- Living Tissue
- Acquired from defeating Sigma, the first mini-boss in the Echoes of the Fallen DLC.
- This mini-boss is located in the Galler area in Sagespire.
- Aqueous Humours
- Acquired from defeating Angra Mainyu, one of the mini-bosses in the Echoes of the Fallen DLC
- This mini-boss is located in the Middle Ring area in Sagespire
- Players will acquire three of these items upon defeating Angra Mainyu
Once players have acquired the required items, players will be able to head to The Black Hammer to craft the Omega Weapon. This sword has 410 Damage and 410 Stagger, making it the best weapon players can get before heading over to Origin.
It’s way better than the previous strongest sword in the base game: Gotterdammerung. The New Game + version, Omega Weapon Reforged, is just as strong as the previous strongest weapon: the Ultima Weapon. Players can end their New Game + run by using either the Ultima Weapon or the Omega Weapon.
With the release date of The Rising Tide DLC fast approaching, it is the perfect time to try and get the Omega Weapon. That way, players will be ready for whatever the upcoming DLC will throw at them. This likely includes Leviathan itself.

Dallas Cowboys training camp star gets unfortunate injury update
One of the breakout stars of the offseason workout program for the Dallas Cowboys was tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford, who joined the team as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL draft. Spann-Ford has been making plays and impressing the coaching staff throughout OTAs, minicamp, and the first week of training camp. Unfortunately, he will be sidelined for the foreseeable future. On Monday, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer revealed the promising tight end is likely "out a few weeks" with an ankle injury. Spann-Ford had been locked in one of the most heated training camp battles with former second-round pick Luke Schoonmaker for the backup tight end job behind Jake Ferguson, who inked a contract extension with Dallas over the weekend. Ferguson agreed to a four-year extension worth $52 million in new money, with $30 million guaranteed, so there is no question about who the team's starter will be. Depending on when Spann-Ford is able to return to the field, however, could determine who locks up the TE2 gig for the start of the regular season. The Cowboys kick off the 2025 preseason on Saturday, August 9, before facing the division rival Philadelphia Eagles in the regular season opener on Thursday, September 4.
Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield breaks news about contract situation
Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht recently suggested the club and Baker Mayfield will sign a contract extension "when the time is right" because Tampa Bay wants Mayfield "to be our quarterback for a long time." During a Monday appearance on CBS Sports HQ, Mayfield broke some news regarding the three-year, $100M deal he signed to stay with the Buccaneers back in March 2024. "You know, right now, I’m under contract through 2026," Mayfield told CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, as shared by the JoeBucsFan website. "So it was really just about getting guaranteed money for 2026, and they did that. And that’s all I can ask for. I signed the contract and knew what it was." JoeBucsFan noted that Mayfield's $40M salary for 2026 was not previously guaranteed. That's no longer an issue for the 30-year-old after he guided the Buccaneers to back-to-back division titles. While Mayfield is working with his third offensive coordinator (Josh Grizzard) in three seasons with Tampa Bay, he's also coming off the best campaign of his pro career. According to Pro Football Reference, Mayfield ended the 2024 regular season ranked fourth in the NFL among qualified players with a 106.8 passer rating, third with 4,500 passing yards and tied for second with 41 touchdowns through the air. In Tampa Bay, Mayfield found a franchise that has let him be his true self after he spent time with the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams from January 2022 through January 2023. He's now the emotional leader of a Buccaneers offense that needed more than just solid play at the sport's most important position after living legend Tom Brady retired in February 2023. "Right now it’s winning," Mayfield said on Monday about his mindset for the upcoming season. "I know good things will happen after that. But I trust this place. I love being here. Obviously, [I’m] used to bouncing around. I’ve done that before, but I don’t want to leave." As of Monday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Buccaneers tied for seventh among the betting favorites at +1300 odds to win the NFC Championship Game held in January 2025. Even if Mayfield fails to lead Tampa Bay to Super Bowl LX, it sounds like he will remain with the Buccaneers through at least the start of the 2026 season.
Atlanta Braves Acquire Starting Pitcher Carlos Carrasco From New York Yankees
The Atlanta Braves acquired veteran Starting Pitcher Carlos Carrasco from the New York Yankees on Monday. New York received cash in the transaction. The veteran starting pitcher, 38, was not at the top of his game in The Bronx. He was 2-2 with a 5.91 ERA. Carrasco pitched better in AAA with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. They are 20th in team ERA, 12th in opposing batting average, and 16th in WHIP. If the Braves do not get their pitchers back, a terrible season will only get worse. Final Thoughts It is unclear what role Carrasco will have with the Atlanta Braves. Whenever he gets called up, he will look to pitch well. If he does not, his MLB career could be nearing its expiration date.
