First Stand is less than a week away. All eight teams are ready to go for what promises to be an exciting week of competition. The potential for a ton of action is high with all matches being best-of-five series. Gen.G Esports are the favorites, but is there someone in the mix ready to pull off an upset? Below is the schedule and rosters for the First Stand event in Brazil.
A draw conducted by Gao “Tian” Tian-Liang and Liu “Crisp” Qing-Song, on March 8th, determined the groups for First Stand. The draw took place after the LPL Split 1 finals. The two groups are as follows:
Group A
Group B
Group A will kick off the action on March 16th, with Bilbili Gaming facing FearX, and G2 Esports taking on Team Secret Whales. Group B will start their matches the following day. Gen.G Esports battles JD Gaming, followed by LYON against LOUD. The Group Stage will continue over the next three days, with matches to be determined. Once the Group Stage concludes, four teams move to the Knockout Stage. The Group Stage utilizes GSL-style groups (Double Elimination). Teams will need to win two matches to progress to the knockout stage.
The Semi-Finals will take place on March 21st, with the Grand Final the following day. All seven days of competition begin at 6:00 AM PDT (2:00 PM CEST). All matches will take place at the Riot Games Arena in São Paulo, Brazil.
