Who is Saitama, and who else is in Fortnite?

Saitama is a character who originates from the One Punch Man series, a web series started comic created by ONE. With a manga and animated adaptation that would soon follow, it is a series that has become well-regarded as one of the coolest modern day Shonen stories. Though while it can have it’s cool moments, a key factor in the series is that it begins with quite the gag that carries out through the story of One Punch Man–the main hero cannot lose a fight.

Making his debut in Fortnite, Saitama joins alongside Genos and Tatsumaki to introduce players of Fortnite to the exciting world of the Japanese franchise One Punch Man. With Saitama being the main character, he is a hero in a world of other heroes that all fight for justice. All coming with their own special superpowers that aid them in battle. Genos being a cyborg packed with weapons, Tatsumaki having control of the earth and wind, and Saitama who comes packed with a single punch that has gone undefeated.

Why does Saitama appear off in Fortnite?

Though while the other two skins appear just fine, even coming with LEGO skins–Saitama comes packed with a glitch effect that sets him apart. Which can be deemed very strange to players unfamiliar with the source material.

However, for those who do know their work and learned a lot about Saitama, it is well known that he has gone literally undefeated–with the closest being a fight he dreamt up once. Something which he feels challenged in throughout his story, but despite everything–nothing can truly stop him, and it appears even Epic Games and Fortnite agree.

While this can seem a bit disappointing, as the effect can seem a bit jarring, fans of the series will understand this as a continuation of Saitama’s undefeated record. Perhaps it can be inferred that defeating him in a Battle Royale means he has a weakness? Though perhaps it is just the developers having a bit of fun with it, as similar characters who should otherwise dominate the playing field with their natural superpowers are just as strong as the rest in this game. After all, its all just a fun experience for players to enjoy.

Saitama along with other cosmetics from One Punch Man can be purchased on the Item Shop both within the game and even on their website for a limited time. As of August 28th, 2025, it is set to leave the shop on September 5th, 2025–so be quick! While a lot can be said about the one punch hero himself, the other skins are sure to not disappoint… even if the sassy lost child Tatsumaki appears a lot taller than she is shown within the original series.
