Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is the latest multiplayer title from Netmarble Neo, the same team behind Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds. They’ve just dropped an early look at the game’s co-op mode, Altar of Memories, and it’s already turning heads. Right now, it’s in early access on Steam (launched back on March 26), with a full release planned for later this year.

The hype around this game is rising with each new announcement, as fans can’t wait to jump into the mythical world of Westeros and battle alongside their friends. Supporting up to 4-player co-op, players will be tasked with defeating high-rewarding bosses in a dungeon-style experience that looks similar to Dragon Age: Inquisition‘s multiplayer feature.
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad will also be available in single-player, but the focus seems to be mainly on cooperative gameplay. Once players link up via the Altar of Memories, they will be greeted with a slew of different enemy types, including Giant Ice Spiders, Stormhorn Unicorns, Ironbeak Griffins, Red Cockatrices, and other formidable foes. There’s also the possibility of encountering Daenerys’s fiercest companion, Drogon.
Three Playable Classes
With three playable classes to choose from, which role will you choose in either single or multiplayer to champion your name throughout Westeros?
• Knight – Greatsword user with a unique flaming sword ability
• Assassin – Face-paced dual-wielding dagger user with throwing knives
• Sellsword – Slower but heavy-hitting axe-wielding warrior
Closing Thoughts
Steam reviews might be mixed for now, with fans feeling both excited and let down, but Game of Thrones: Kingsroad still looks like it’s shaping up to be a solid co-op adventure. Whether you’re diving into the story solo or teaming up in the chaotic, creature-filled Altar of Memories, there’s something here for both sides of the player base. It might not please everyone just yet, but there’s definitely potential for it to win people over.

Steelers Get More Good News on Rookie’s Injury
PITTSBURGH — With each passing day the injury news regarding Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Derrick Harmon continues to improve. After tweaking a knee in the Steelers' preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers, the panic and worry instantly skyrocketed. Would the team's first-round pick once again be sidelined by a preseason injury? According to Steelers insider, Gerry Dulac, the latest update regarding Derrick Harmon is another positive step while the defensive tackle deals with a mild knee sprain. The team has described the injury as moderate, but not severe or long-term. Futhermore, the rookie will not be heading to injured reserve to begin the season. Dulac shared via his X account that due to the short-term nature of the sprain Harmon is dealing with, the team does not feel it is necessary to place him on IR and cause him to miss the first four weeks of the season. There's also hope that he could miss as few as one game, which would force him out for just the opening week contest against the New York Jets. ”Steelers have no intention of putting Harmon on IR,” he wrote. “And think it’s possible he will miss only one game.” It's another step in the right direction for Harmon, who avoided catastrophe in the preseason finale against the Panthers. It was a routine pass rushing play, but as he tried to get the edge on the offensive linemen matched up against him, it was obvious that something tweaked in his knee. Thankfully, he was able to exit under his own power and he was never fully taken off the field, but rather evaluated by Steelers medical personnel on the sidelines. If Harmon does only miss one week that would put him an excellent position to continue on the trajectory he's been on since arriving at training camp earlier this summer. It took all of one week of practices for the Steelers to name him one of the starters along the defensive line and his impact both at practice and in preseason contests against other competition has illustrated clearly that Harmon is not only a strong first round pick, but a starting defensive player in the NFL already. Without Harmon available this will put added pressure on starters like Cam Hayward as he deals with his own contractual negotiation efforts with the Steelers, as well as third year defensive tackle, Keeanu Benton. Benton is on track to have another strong season and without Harmon taking away potential reps over the next couple of weeks, Benton can reestablish himself as one of the premier interior defensive lineman in the AFC. Supporting them will be players like Isaiahh Loudermilk, Daniel Ekuale and whoever the final member of the 53-man roster is. It should also mean a significant increase in snaps and practice time for fifth round pick Yahya Black. Along with Harmon, Black has been a standout along the defensive line in training camp and the preseason. His performance has given the Steelers all the more confidence that their recent draft class is going to be a very successful one. It will look even better once Harmon is ready and back in action.

Last season was a tough one for veteran defenseman Jan Rutta. He dealt with some lower-body injuries, and when he was in the lineup for San Jose, he was often on the third pairing. That has certainly contributed to his going unsigned through the first seven weeks of free agency, but that is coming to an end. Earlier this week, Blick’s Gregory Beaud (h/t The Hockey News) reported that the blueliner is signing with Geneve-Servette in Switzerland. Rutta played in 54 games for the Sharks last season, picking up just three goals and six assists in a little over 17 minutes a night. However, he took a regular turn on their penalty kill and played some tough defensive minutes. Speculatively, NHL teams could be eyeing him as a PTO candidate to fill a sixth or seventh role if things went well in training camp but clearly, a full contract offer has yet to materialize and at some point, a guaranteed deal overseas could be viewed as a better option than trying to earn a contract off a tryout. Rutta debuted fairly late in the NHL with his first season coming at the age of 27 with Chicago. Since then, he has suited up in 417 regular-season games between four different clubs, putting up 23 goals and 75 assists along with 479 blocked shots. He also has a pair of Stanley Cup rings from his time with Tampa Bay. Rutta will be the third veteran NHL player to join that team this offseason. Previously, it signed wingers Jesse Puljujarvi and Jimmy Vesey and has one import slot remaining that it appears they want to use to bring in a veteran defender.

Bengals' Joe Burrow puts NFL on notice amid Trey Hendrickson contract standoff
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow finished fourth in Most Valuable Player Award voting for the 2024 season after his club missed the playoffs. During a recent chat with NFL insider Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Burrow put the league on notice regarding how he's feeling heading into the upcoming campaign. "I’m not sure I would say anyone is playing the position better than I am right now," Burrow remarked. "I'm pretty confident in my ability to go out and do that every Sunday. Now, it’s just showing that consistency, showing it year in and year out. I think what separates the legends is being able to do it year in, year out for five, 10 years at a time. So, trying to be able to find that consistency in my discipline and my process, doing the easy stuff in my sleep and then making the hard stuff look easy, then making a couple of great plays here and there, that’s what I am trying to do every week." Pro Football Reference stats show that Burrow ended the 2024 regular season leading the league with 460 completions, 652 pass attempts, 4,918 passing yards, 43 passing touchdowns and an average of 289.3 passing yards per game. The Bengals subsequently rewarded their QB1 during the offseason by signing wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, wideout Tee Higgins and tight end Mike Gesicki to new deals. "We want to be the best offense in the NFL," Burrow told Breer. That said, Bengals pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson remains in the middle of what's become an ugly contract standoff. Hendrickson is in the final year of his existing deal, and the two sides seemingly aren't close to agreeing on the amount of guaranteed money that would be attached to an extension. Burrow has repeatedly made it known throughout the summer that he thinks the Bengals should "reward" Hendrickson with a pay raise. "...I think the more that I can explain the thoughts of the locker room, explain why doing one thing one way might affect feelings in the locker room, as opposed to doing something a different way, it’s my job as a quarterback to be able to relay information like that," Burrow said about campaigning for Hendrickson to get paid before Cincinnati opens the 2025 season at the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 7. "And whatever their decisions are with that information, that’s for them to decide." On Friday, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Bengals at -140 odds to make the playoffs this season. Having a happy Hendrickson in the lineup would only improve Cincinnati's chances of enjoying what could become a special campaign.
'Off the table': Cowboys have strong stance on Micah Parsons as saga gets uglier
Following Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones‘ latest comments on the Micah Parsons situation, the All-Pro pass-rusher took the increasingly common step of scrubbing his X profile of Cowboys material. The Cowboys have been known to prolong negotiations, regardless of price hikes, and they are well down this road once again with another standout. Multiple teams have inquired about Parsons’ availability, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said during a "SportsCenter" appearance. Nothing is moving on that front, as Dallas continues to hold tight during its latest contract saga. That aligns with what we heard last week, with GMs indicating they have not gotten the sense Parsons is available following his trade request. Noting it would take a Herschel Walker-like offer for the Cowboys to move Parsons, so it's "off the table," and Fowler points to team optimism a deal can still be finalized before the season. It should also be noted Parsons’ camp is less optimistic. Jones attempting to go around high-powered agent David Mulugheta in negotiations has understandably irked Parsons, who employs an agent to negotiate his contract. The longtime Cowboys owner referencing a $200M guarantee also reflects what is likely a five- or six-year Dallas extension offer. With the cap soaring annually, players are increasingly opting against long-term deals. The Cowboys prefer them, but it is notable Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb convinced the team to budge here by each scoring four-year extensions. It would surprise if Parsons signed for beyond four years, but Jones continues to reference his negotiations with the player — talks Parsons classified as informal — this offseason. A Cowboys source mentioned the 49ers’ Nick Bosa situation re: Parsons. San Francisco did not have Bosa signed until four days before the 2023 regular season. Bosa played in Week 1 despite holding out until his extension was done. Parsons has spoken out about how not practicing during a negotiation can negatively impact a season, and he long preferred to have his deal done by training camp. The Cowboys are well past that artificial deadline, as these talks now remind of the Prescott and Lamb pace. Neither of those performers requested a trade, which is a notable difference between this Parsons back-and-forth and previous Cowboys extension struggles. While Fowler adds Mulugheta certainly didn’t tell Jones to stick the team’s offer “up their (expletive),” the Cowboys going to these lengths to avoid dealing with one of the game’s top agents has been an interesting chapter. Jones taking this route is not out of character. But Parsons taking issue with it to the degree he has would seem to require the team to change course and huddle up with Mulugheta — if the intent is to finalize a deal before Week 1. The Cowboys’ Thursday night assignment in Philadelphia to open the season also gives them less time than they had with Prescott last year. Mentioning the Packers, Cardinals and Ravens as potential trade fits, Fowler outlines what would certainly be a robust market if the Cowboys did decide to explore what the top player would fetch in a trade. Of course, dealing Parsons would significantly weaken the 2025 Cowboys. Jones mentioned during his Michael Irvin podcast conversation the prospect of franchise-tagging Parsons next year. That would be an option, but the Cowboys are not giving up on a 2025 deal yet.
