GTA 6 has the gaming world in hype. The second trailer for the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 dropped yesterday and it has fans exploding with chatter about what the new game might have in store. It also has fans wondering if a feature they have wanted for years will finally be coming to a Grand Theft Auto game.
The cinematic trailer features the starring couple, Jason and Lucia, of course, getting into trouble with the law, backed up by the rocking vocals of “Hot Together” by the Pointer Sisters. However, one thing that has fans intrigued is how the trailer shows Lucia wearing wireless earbuds. This has caused them to wonder if the earbuds will be usable in-game, allowing them to listen to the radio whenever they want.
The radio has been an important feature in previous Grand Theft Auto games. The series’ plethora of licensed songs have added to the ambiance while players drove vehicles; however, the feature has been restricted to vehicles in previous entries. The GTA 6 trailer has several shots of Jason driving a car with various songs such as Wang Chung’s “Everybody Have Fun Tonight,” showing that the car radio feature will still be around. However, if the earbuds in the trailer are function, this could mean that players would have access to the radio whenever they want.
If you could listen to music on the go, you could take a break from the heists and the noise and just take a walk. The graphics in the trailer look gorgeous, and with functional earbuds, you could let some classic tunes surround you as you walk through the city. Of course, you might also miss NPC dialogue with this function, but with subtitles, that might not be an issue.
Since the GTA 6 release date was pushed back to May 26, 2026, fans will have to wait a while before they find out if this feature actually exists in the game. Regardless of whether the earbuds function or if they are just cosmetic, the trailer has gamers hyped. After the legacy that GTA 5 left, GTA 6 will have a lot to live up to. Will it be a worthy successor? Only time will tell.
