Apparently, a lot of Helldivers 2 players are now using a newly discovered infinite stratagem glitch that can effectively shower entire planets in airstrikes, and let’s just say not everyone’s thrilled. In fact, many are begging fellow players to knock it off.
The glitch surfaced after the latest patch, which wasn’t too long ago, and somehow it messed with how normal stratagems function. Basically, you input a simple combo, and boom—you can spam airstrikes, supply drops, and mechs until the game starts melting. There are already a ton of videos showing players doing just that: spawning dozens of ships and explosions, dragging their frame rates into the Valley of Yonder.
This wouldn’t be such a big deal if it were all for laughs in private lobbies, but it’s actually becoming a problem for public games.
Unsurprisingly, many Helldivers 2 players simply do not care. Glitch or not, it’s not stopping them from having the time of their lives bombarding Super Earth’s enemies into submission.
Over at PC Gamer, Sean Martin gave the glitch a try himself and managed to fill the sky with machine guns, Exosuits, and airstrikes like it was the 4th of July—on steroids. Fortunately, he stuck to a private lobby. His findings? The glitch is so absurdly easy, you can almost trigger it by accident.

Reactions are mixed, but a lot of players are annoyed. Some say their computers were fried after public games filled with non-stop orbital strikes, 10 mechs jammed in the geometry, and Hellbombs going off like popcorn. Unsurprisingly, the Helldivers 2 subreddit has issued a warning: users will be banned if they post footage or screenshots of the exploit.
“We don’t need hundreds of images and videos flooding the subreddit with undemocratic explosions,”

And honestly? Valid.
As of Wednesday, Arrowhead devs confirmed they were aware of the exploit and were investigating it. By Thursday, they pushed out a hotfix that patched the rapid-fire stratagem glitch and helped stop the cascade of system-crashing chaos. A truly democratic response from our leaders at Arrowhead Studios and Super Earth.
